Is this a CRT RPTV?? jwebb1970 10-30-07, 01:13 PM Who's Bob?? Philips isn't a popular manufacture around here. Is this a CRT RPTV?? Think he was referring to resident ISF guru Robert Jones, aka Mr Bob. Haven't heard tons of great things about the Philips/Magnavox CRT RPTVs. But nothing esp. damning either. The specific model mentioned, however, is a 720p DLP RPTV. The 60PP9200D is a 60" HD CRT RPTV. Not sure which model he meant for sure. The refurb price makes me think it's the CRT, but I could be wrong. If not married to DLP, I would suggest to the OP that he also search around for any remaining Hitachi CRT RPTVs if looking for a bargain. Have seen some of the last remaining F59 series sets from 2006 (in 51", 57" & 65" sizes) getting sold new for major steals. Have the 51" myself and love it. Granted, I've done a bit of tweaking with this set myself (overscan reduction, service menu tweaks, focus adjusment) to get it to where it is now, but even OOB they are pretty sweet. |
