When I muted my Hitachi projector last night I noticed that when there was no picture on the screen I could only hear the fan; but as soon as signal appeared the PJ "clicked." It was faint but noticable. I then noticed that it clicked every time there was a significant light change on the screen. Any idea what could be causing this? The projector had been on for a couple of hours (it's a Hitchaci PJ-HD52) and the unit is one year and eight months old.

Not owning a PJ, but simply from reading information on this forum, it is most likely the dynamic iris.

I can't tell you if that's normal or not for your specific PJ, but other PJs have that "click" noise as well.

Thanks. I guess it's always been there--I watch very little TV and all of it HD. The new HD channels with commercials have forced me to use the mute button and that's when I noticed it.
