Sorry if this has been covered, i read the other threads and they all discussed covering up the windows permanently. I am building a new house and my wife is instant on having numerous windows in our living room. I for one hate this, but I am sick of fighting about the windows with her. How can I cover the windows up, but still be accessible so she can use them, I know blinds will help but they still let a lot of light in… any advice is welcome… thanks….

Without considering what budget you may have assigned to this, since this is new construction, I would plan for motorized blackout shades and light blocking channels for them to run in. I think you can solve this in a way that both of you can be extremely happy. I have lots of windows in a 30 year old house, and have it 100% dark.

If you'd like, I can help guide you through it, having done it multiple times before.

Probably best if you email me with any of your thoughts, and I'll be wanting to see digital photos of what you have to work with. If you're yet to begin construction, we can talk in generalities. I am a window covering dealer, but I have no desire to sell you anything, I'll be recommending you go to a local dealer of your choice once we figure out what would work best for you.

Sleep well tonight, there can be peace and harmony in the family.
