I am putting a secondary HT in my study. Unfortunately it is the absolute worst possible dimensions - 10.5'x10.75' with 10 ' ceilings. One wall will be all bookshelves and this is where the monitor and L,C, R speakers will be located. The wall to the right is mostly windows which will be covered with some sort of curtains, the wall to the left has the double door entry. The back wall is the only plain expanse of wall. Oh - the floors are hardwood. What an acoustic nighmare!!!
It will be a 5.1 system: I am going with PSB Alphas for speakers to include Alpha S diploes for surrounds. I will be putting in an area rug and a small loveseat. I had thought about some sort of treatment for the back wall and corners, and maybe something under the windows.
I am looking for any suggestions. I would be ecstatic if someone could point out a good book / article that doesn't require a MIT degree in acoustic engineering to understand. I am a HT enthusiast who knows enough to know I have a potential problem. Total demolition and rebuild is not an option.......
Thanks.
