General aesthetics.

RF expander included w/ 890.

Harmony is dependant on internet software and less buggy right now.

810 has stronger macro ability.

810 has stronger macro ability.

Not so sure about that one. So far I have been unable to create macro's for buttons inside an activity. For example, I want a "To Do" list button for my D* HR20. This requires a macro of List and Yellow. Very easy on a 900 and not too hard on a Harmony now that they have sequencing back.

But for the life of me I can figure out how to do this on my 810.:(

Herdfan,
I feel your pain. The 810 has a nice feature called - random F Up.
Everytime I use it, I toss the remote against wall. It's unfair. I think it's ths software's fault, but that's not tangible.

I think by the time most people get their hands on the 810, they will have ironed out some minor issues.

Harmony Macros are kind of pathetic. Too limited right now.

Honestly, I don't like either one much, but he was not asking about Crestron or RTI.

I've recently (yesterday) upgraded to the MX810. So far it's great. I had Harmony 890 remotes in two areas of the house, but I had so many problems with them that I switched to all URC remotes. So far so good, but I'm not fully set up yet. As far a sweb interface goes, the harmony definitely supported more devices (of my six components, the MX810 software could exactly matxh only one of them, but the learning functionality for the MX, made that relatively painless).

So I can't give a glowing review of the 810 yet, but I can definitely give a strong negative to the Harmony 890. Great remote, but was so buggy and woudl just stop working periodically that I finally had to get rid of them.
