I plan to buy the new Kuro 8G 60" Plama TV. Can someone recommend how high I should hang the TV to my wall? I notice that the TV is 88cm / 36.7" high.
Should I hang it above the floor by 160cm / 63"? (distance measured from floor to the top of the plasma TV).
Thanks.

You should sit in your normal viewing position and measure your eye height from the floor. Mount the display such that its center is about an inch below this eye level.

If you have one on a entertainment center, I would measure to the top of the entertainment center and then hang it a couple inches above that depending how far back you sit. Or you could measure to your eye level while sitting on a couch and hang accordingly. You could find out the deminsions of the PDP and cut the size on a posterboard to hang it on the wall to see what you like.

Funny, I'm surprised no one had taken that name yet :)

Actually just put some pics up of my setup <<<Click Here>>> (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=12033043&postcount=8)
I normally hand most screen about 40" off the ground to the bottom of the unit. This will insure it is out of the reach of little ones. This will also insure it is out of reach of screwdrivers in back pockets of a person passing buy.

I measured my eyelevel while sitting on the sofa, it is about 38" from the floor. I currently have a 42" Hitachi Plasma TV and it is sitting on a entertainment cabinet that is 20" high. I measured the center of the TV and it is currently sitting at 36" above the floor or 2" below my eye level.
While this looks fine on a 42" TV, it is definitely too low for a 60 incher...
My current estimation is to hang the 60" Kuro 30" above the floor relative to the bottom of the TV. This means the center of the TV is at 47.6" above the floor.
I'll be sitting 13 ft away (position of my head to the front of the TV screen).
Does it sound right?

Hi Cleveland Plasma,
Your setup actually looks a bit high to me. I want my head to be leveled instead of looking up...
I think eventually the TV has to be mounted higher than my eyelevel due to the sheer size. Also, if I'm slouching on the couch, my eyes will be looking at an angle upward...

i had my d-ila set up so that i looked right at the middle of the screen... with the d-ila set, it's really not optional to have it set up any differentely
i have my plasma set up so that i look right at the bottom bezel... i think i like this better, looking slightly upward (this also allows to see the whole screen above the top of my laptop :) )... i wouldn't want it much higher than this though...
i'm also sitting in a recliner...
ymmv...

While most people will pronounce "Kuro" as "Ku-Roll", the actual Japanese pronunciation is "Ku-Lor", with Ku at a higher pitch.

My unit is higher than 40" off the ground........Even if a unit is not a eye level, think of it this way, when you look up does your head have to tilt up? Not always, your eyes can look upward without your head moving at all. Would be a real bummer if a person was to hang there unit to low just to watch there unit get scratched in the future.
Use your best judgement because ultimatlly you (and your family) are the most important viewers.
