Does anyone know if one of the preprogramed sat devices in the MX500 will work for the new Directv HD STB ? There is nothing listed as Directv, but I was hoping the the codes for a different brand (Hughes, etc.) might work.

No, the device library in the mx500 is 7 to 8 years old. The current directv codeset came out in 2004. You have to teach or send the remote in to have its memory upgraded by URC.

All the receivers that have used the current codeset have all been branded DIrectv, no named brand ever used this current codeset.
