Just watched this yesterday for the first time. I was not impressed. It looked marginally better than an upconverted DVD. I had to go and check the cover to see if it was a combo disc and if the player was playing the DVD version! (turns out it isn't a combo).

The color were oversaturated, but the detail / sharpness of HD didn't seem to be there. Lots of mosquito noise as well. This is via my A2 on my Panny AE900 front projector (106").

Is this just a mediocre transfer? Or, did the original also look this way in the theaters?
