My Harmony remote has become almost useless with a few components that do not have discrete on/off commands. I decided to go back to URC and purchased an RF10. I also have a second unit on order with the RF base station for my bedroom.

Only problem is that there does not seem to be a way to turn off the RF on the remotes. Is there any way to prevent the RF10 in the family room from operating the OPPO player in the bedroom when I am trying to control the OPPO in the family room?

I got the base station for the bedroom as a low cost IR distribution system. I would even being to disable the RF if that is possible. To be honest, my ideal solution would be to have separate, independent RF set-ups for each room, but I don't think that is even close to possible.

Sorry but no, the RF10 emits RF & IR at the same , all the time. The least expensive remote would be the mx350, each device on that remote can be set to either IR, RF, or IR & RF. Of course you would have get rid of the mrf100's, for addressable basestations like the mrf250 or 300.

I was also considering the MX-650, but I actually like the all button layout of the RF10 -- besides it would cost about 2x for an RF solution if I went the MX-650 route. I guess I'll just use the MRF-100 RF Base Station in the bedroom. The chances are slim that I would be using both OPPO DVD players are the same time. I suppose I could even use an MRF-100 RF Base Station in both areas. I would just need to power off one or the other when there is a chance of potential conflict.
