I am thinking of buying a Macbook and was wondering what you guys think. Is this a good time to buy one or should I believe the rumors and wait for the supposed update. Any opinions are appreciated.

For full-time use in the home theater?

Strong rumors point to a new MacBook sometime in November. If you can handle that after buying one now, go for it. Otherwise wait.

You might want to wait. Leopard has new GMA3100 drivers (which a new Macbook would utilize)

if the intended use is as a laptop I would try and make sure it does not heat up as much as recent models. I have the model prior to the very last revision and it is ridiculous how hot it gets, there's no way you can use it as a laptop.

Otherwise, the recommendations you got so far are good, wait if you can even though I am not sure how "deep" of a revision it will be, it looks like it's coming in Nov.

Thanks guy . Now another question. What do think is better to get this refurbished Macbook with the old Duo2core CPU and Intel GMA950 Graphics:

Refurbished MacBook 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - White
* 13.3-inch glossy widescreen display
* 1GB memory
* 120GB hard drive
* 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
* Intel GMA 950 graphics processor
* Built-in iSight camera

or get the new updated macbook with new Santa Rosa CPU and Intel x3100 Graphics:

MacBook 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - White
*13.3-inch glossy widescreen display
* 1GB memory
* 80GB hard drive1
* Combo drive
* Intel X3100 graphics processor
* Built-in iSight camera

Both are the same price and I am having a hard time deciding which is better to get...
