I know this is the HD software forum, but thought that this thread would get better, unbiased results here rather than in the other format specific areas.

Anyway, which has the better upscaling for SD DVD? The Toshiba A2 or the Samsung BD-P1000? I'm not sure which is considered better, and would like to know before I try an A-B comparison.

Thanks in advance.

I don't understand.....it looks like you have both HD players. Why don't you do a comparison and let us know. I personally think the A2's upconversion is simply outstanding. But, my only comparison is to the Zenith 318.

I prefered the BD-P1000 even though I hated that player, it did a better job on upscaling.

I got rid of it though, thank god.

A2 is better.

But it's interesting that we are comparing a $197 player with the far more expensive BDP1000

I've had both.
