My wife and I recieved our RS1 last week and we love it. But we also still love our CRT and it works well, so we're going to keep it in sevice. We're able to see a lot of screen grain on our present 100" perm-wall when using the RS1, so we'll likely install a 120" High Power pull-down. or maybe custom, "flip-up" screen in front of the old one.

Guess which projector is running?

The RS1 is projecting a 92" diagonal image from its minimum projection distance on high lamp mode, so the image is very bright.

In order to be able to phtograph the two projectors from behind, plus the image on the screen, and have the projectors visible, I had to turn on every light in the room, plus the lights over the pool table that is located on the next level up in the basement.

I still wonder how the RS1 does with a 10 ft diagonal without an HP screen...I'm leary of the black level being high in that case?

If it's too bright, use an ND filter. You can remove it as the lamp ages and dims so you get some brightness back.

Yes, I agree. I've just put a new lamp in my RS1, and at low lamp and min throw I measured 598 lumens. So with my 126 " (10.5 ft) diag HP screen, I get ~ 36 ftL, a bit too bright for me. Using an ND2 filter brings it down to 18 ftL, since quite bright, and I can easily pop it off when I want it brighter.
