I'm new to this forum, alot of good info you guys have.

I have a question and wanted to get a confirmation, I hire a ISF calibrator to setup my tv (KDS-R60XBR2)

His equipment cant get the same signal as mine which is 1080p so he used a 1080i signal to do the grey scale etc.... What he is telling me is the calibration in custom mode applies to all 1080 mode resolutions regardless of the mode scan (i or p)


Can anyone confirm this cause I watch alot of 1080p source and dont want to get rip off.

He is correct you were not ripped off.

a 1080i pattern that does not move is a 1080p pattern. There are no deinterlacing issues.
