View Full Version : PT-AE1000U and PT-AE2000U Same Lamps? TheHDMan 10-28-07, 09:45 PM How does the 2000 achieve 600 more lumens than the 1000 with the same 165W lamp?... Chris Dias 10-28-07, 10:11 PM THis is from the Epson press release about the new D7 panels: The new panels, which conform to newly developed design rules, use a technology which boosts aperture ratios by 20% compared with the D6. By enhancing aperture ratios, this technology improves luminance while using the same lamp as previous models. That means the same lamp will result in brighter images. Conversely, manufacturers can insert lower-watt lamps to achieve the same levels of luminance experienced with a D6 panel. Thus the technology makes it possible to manufacture brighter, more environmentally friendly projectors that offer better value for the money.
