Is losing this kind of many going to effect Sony's decision to promote the PS3 as a BD player. I would think alot of the loss could be attributed to people buying the PS3 just for BD playback and never buying any games, extra controllers, etc. Sony makes $30+ on a game but only $2-$3 per disc on a movie. So for every one game they must sell 10-15 movies to generate the same revenue. Plus money from the movies goes back to Sony pictures, not the gaming division, which really makes the gaming division look like its underperforming, which harms public image of the PS3.
Again, it looks like another example where the PS3 BD capability could be killing the PS3 market share in an attempt to get HDM market share. IMHO, a bad strategy on Sony's part.
