I didn't know where else to put this post so i put it under here. I have a insignia HDTV, and when i go to the channels 110.2 - 114.1 i can view what other people are watching on charter's on demand service. I know this because I can see them fastforward, rewind, and pause the shows. I do not have anything illegal hooked up its right out of the box, hdtv tuner. Anyone else have a tv that does this??

Any TV with a QAM tuner connected to a cable system that offers VOD can do this.

Whats QAM? Will cable companies stop this somehow?

Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. What that means is that it can pick up unencrypted digital channels, which is what on demand programming is. I don't think the cable companies are very concerned with stopping this, because you have no control over the content. You're dependent on what people in your neighborhood are watching, and their pause, ffw, and rewind requests. It's really not that big of an issue.

So is it a nieghborhood or a small town (75,000) because I moved to another place and i still get the same channels, and can tell its the same people due to their similar habits. Yes i notice what they watch when, and um their pausing/rewinding habbits lol

Your whole town probably shares the on demand channels.
