View Full Version : Diagnosing RF interference?

I just got a Harmony 890 with RF Extender to control devices inside of a cabinet. However, it doesn't work. I've tried every suggestion I could find online, no go. The RF Extender only receives maybe 1 out of every 20 commands.

Then I brought my Extender and my Remote into the garage. It works fine. The extender receives commands from many feet away even with a car blocking line-of-sight.

I brought it back inside, tried every room, every outlet, turned off every light, every appliance/electronic device... nothing. What could be interfering with the device inside my home and how might I find out?

This is a brand new home, foam filled exterior walls.

On the same note, I can barely get WiFi to function in the house.

Any help is appreciated.

wifey figured it out. freakin' baby monitor of all things. the transmitter stays active unless unplugged.

can't believe such a measly little device could decimate thousands of dollars in electronics.

I'm bookmarking this thread; this could save someone a big headache. What's the make/model on the baby monitor?
