That's a good deal for HDM folks..although their website shows it selling for $25...or you can get it in a 3 pack with two other movies for $17...but still the special edition SD DVD goes for around $18..so prices are getting closer to SD in some cases......however I wish they'd give me back the almost $19 I spent to go see it at the theaters....UGH! :)

Actually WM caries the special edition DVD for $13.72

My local Wal-Mart prominently displays only one HDM title at a time. Sometimes its a BD, other times it's and HD DVD. No, I don't mean a cool HT display, I am referring to the stock.

Today they had Knocked Up on the same shelf as SD DVDs, last week it was TMNT on BD and I think they actually had two copies of it.

I guess the Wal-Mart here in Hamilton, OH didn't get the memo.

When I saw Face Off at Fry's for 28.99, I was greatly disappointed, I wanted to buy it for 19.99, but I decided its not worth 28.99 so I walked out.

My Walmart has some HD DVD, but no Face Off.

I might have to stop by a different Walmart on my way home from work today.

I realize I might spend more money on gas that I save, but its the PRINCIPLE of the thing damn it.

28.99 is just ridiculous for a catalog release.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a Walmart in So. Cal. that has it for this price do you?

mike171979 does your frys have Shining on HD DVD? Mine did not, so I was digging in the overstock...a drone asked if they could help me and after 10 mins at the computer, she decided they did not order it on HD DVD and had sold out of their Blu Ray version...could not find it on Frys.com either...

THanks for the heads up. I picked up my copy for 19.96 also at Walmart this morning also. I don't understand why the heck Frys is selling it for $27

My Fry's did not have The Shining either.

Of the Kubrick films, it only had 2001 and Eyes Wide Shut in HD DVD.

It did have all 5 titles in Blu Ray however.

I was very close to picking up The Shining on Blu Ray, but I decided to wait and try to find it on HD DVD.

I mean I'll buy a Blu Ray movie if its exclusive, but if its also out on HD DVD, I'll wait until I can find the HD DVD version.

My Fry's didn't have Troy DC or Alexander when they first came out either, it took them a couple of weeks to get em', I'm sure it'll be the same exact way with The Shining.

Picked up face off from Walmart for 19.96 . Was looking for Talk to me, no luck though... :(

EDIT: I'm really starting to get used to these Amazon prices in store :) Looks like I'll be having a Walmart run 3-4 times a month...

The good prices are only on some of them. We had to pull some multi-studio promo HDM tonight from the floor because it was blocked in the system for some reason. The list is: The Italian Job, Four Brothers, Sleepy Hollow, and Failure To Launch for $14.96 apiece. We may be getting some more, and I'll update when I know more.

I got mine from BB yesterday for 19.99 it is labeled 24.99 but I asked her if she
can pricematch without even asking what store and she just said she saw it in
some store for 19.99 so she just adjust the cost for me.

Also: Clerks II, Lucky # Slevin, and Pulse Unrated. There will be more eventually when the corrugates (displays) come in. There'll also be BluRay displays with a large number of titles at the $14.96 price point. Great time to be format neutral (I'm of the mind that there will be no "winner").
