I have a question concerning D* packaging and their HD channels. Does anyone know if Directv offers an "HD only" pkg? We are opening a dental office and would love to have Directv HD with all of the new additions, but obviously don't need all of the xtra channels that will never be turned on. I spoke to a rep in their commercial services and he said that he wasn't sure, but he thought local dealers could offer ala carte pkging to businesses (you think that they would know). Any thoughts? Thanks.
No. You HAVE to have the basic package first. No ala carte. Sorry.

D* may have some sort of deal for business subscribers, but doubtful.
Used to work in a chiropractor's office where E* was installed. Dr tried to see if they had a deal for commercial accounts, but apparently not. Just carried the basic (Top 50 or 100?) package. This was several years ago (and a diff. service).
If you sign up for their "HD package", it a little cheaper--but not by much, I believe--than adding HD to a lower level package. The monthly HD Access fee is rolled into the package price. HD Access requires at least their lowest level std package.
