How much would you expect to pay for the following home theater installation?

Mount three front speakers and two rear speakers on wall
Run wire for center channel behind wall to closet (about nine feet)
Run subwoofer cable to closet (about 18 feet, through studs)
Install wall mount for tv and hang tv
Install electric outlet
Connect and test components

The wiring for the two rear speakers and left and right front was already in place.

I already did the work, so I'm not looking for bids. The work was sloppy and they didn't have a clue how to connect things -- I was standing there reading the manuals to them. They were recommended by a contractor who was doing other work in our house who we liked a lot, and we trusted his reference without checking with other customers. Word to the wise -- always check references!

Very sorry to hear about anytime somebody gets taken. Bottom line is, if you are that unsatisfied, and they were that incompetent, then you paid too much.

Well said.

I've been through that before but not with HT.

Best Buy and Circuit City(Firedog) would have charged you a min of $900.00 without any electrical and no materials included.
