Today I called the 800 number to check the status of my HD-DVDs and the women on the phone told me they are in ready status and to allow 3-4 more weeks. That is the same answer I got 3 weeks ago. No big deal but then she said something else. She said I could go to www.disneydvd.com and click on the link in the bottom left corner to check the status online. At first I thought "hmm.. that's strange Disney supports BD not HD-DVD", but I didn't say anything to her and we ended the call. So I went to the site to try it out and as I figured it didn't work. I then searched the BD software forum for "disneydvd" and found that site is the BD online checker.

Why would a Toshiba rep lead me to the enemy?

Well that is strange. Toshiba doesn't actually fill the orders. They have hired a marketing company to do the mail in offer. Probably just the same company that Disney/Blu-Ray uses.

I was thinking that or either.... oh wait she didn't sound like she was from India. :D

It's the same company doing both rebates. I called in about both the BD and HD DVD rebates once, on completely different numbers, and I actually got the same guy on both calls.

This company does rebates for MANY other companies. I have sent in rebates for my 5 free HD DVDs, a mail in rebate for a computer package from Circuit City, and a rebate for a lamp for my projector and they all went to El Paso, Tx.
