Hi
I hope one of you guys can help me
I have a JVC DLA G150HT and fancy calibrating with my licensed copy of Dillard 3.0.
I have a minor colour uniformity and pixel alignment issues that I'd like to correct.
With V3 being released shortly before Dillard dropped of the radar
I'm wary of using it on my G150HT just in case the bugs were not worked out.
As it stands the backup wizard only wants to backup the
unimportant areas (I'll expand on this later) and refuses to back up
the main calibration settings that I'd want a copy of.
Have any of you guys successfully calibrated your G150 with Dillard 3.0
If you have were you happy with the results
Many thanks

You could always try to contact William phelps (search here in the forum).
I have bought from him some software for the shading correction of my projector, a JVC M15 (Same as G15 with a fixed lens). His software included a very nice backup tool. I always use it instead of Dilard's backup, which also never worked with my projector...
I don't know if it will work with your projector. Try contacting him about it.

Hi
That's a good idea
Especially regarding the backup tool - I'm not very comfortable about making changes without the ability to backup
Many thanks

DILARD won't do anything about color uniformity/shading issues. You would need William's software to correct that anyway. So having it for the backup would be good too.
Just remember with his software (and probably DILARD) when you backup you need to have the projector ON and have the mode set to a specific format that is not AUTO. If you ever need to restore you need to be ON, on the same input and in the same mode. It is some limitation of how the unit lets you access its settings.
Dilard 3.0 licensed itself to your projectors serial number. Do you have that all set and working?

Hi Shawn
I have just emailed William with regard to purchasing his software
It sounds like that I don't need to use Dillard at all just Williams tool
Regarding the backup - I didn't know about the mode setting needing to be specific. The first thing that the failed backup wizard did was to turn the projector off into standby and on and off at various stages
My understanding regarding Dillard 3.0 is that it's licensed to the meter not the projector. Version 2.4 certainly was licensed to the projector.
It seems to work with my projector saying that I haven't made any changes yet
Many thanks

"It sounds like that I don't need to use Dillard at all just Williams tool"
Dilard can do its normal gamma/color calibration though.I don't know how much of an effect it has on a G150 but on a G10 it was dramatic.
"I didn't know about the mode setting needing to be specific."
Very, William will give you details about that with his software.

Yup, I had that backwards.

Hi Shawn
Thanks for clearing that up
I'll now wait (rather impatiently knowing me) for Williams email
Many thanks

If you also buy william's shading tool, remember to use a very small screen for correcting the shading issues (move the projector front), it would be a lot easier due to the higher brightness. I never was capable of correcting the shading at my normal viewing distance.

Dillard never supported the G150... I Beta tested it for a while before it was withdrawn. :) One issue I had was it would move a color panel in one direction but then you couldn't move it back! Now they came up with a patch for that but there were others and they kindly offered to refund my money and I accepted. Later on I inquired and was told sorry we don't support the G150.

Hi
Thanks for letting me know
I'm very glad that I haven't tried to use it yet on my G150
