Ok, so here's the story:

On August 8th I bought a gamestop refurbished console from their online store.

I think red rings are 3 year warranty and that the system hasnt even been out three years
but it was a "gamestop refurbished" so i dont know if MS will warranty it.

When I purchased the unit I thought that it had a 90 day warranty (i bought it 85 days ago)
but then i went to gamestop's page, and see NOTHING about the warranty.

I should add that when you buy a gamestop refurbished console, the back of the unit has one of those stickers that says "Gamestop-void if removed"

But it isn't the MS one...its a gamestop one.

I finally got in touch with gamestop and they said that its only a 30 day warranty and that the Microsoft warranty is void because its "gamestop refurbished"

I think i'm screwed.

No you have the original manufacturers warranty because you bought it from a store. Even what this would be considered instore an "open item" when resold as used still has the original manufacturer warranty. Regardless call MS and find out what they can do. That should be easier then guessing here.

Microsoft may need you to provide proof of purchase, but I think you should be fine.

Just call them with your serial number. They can tell what the Man Date was.

I bought two refurbished 360's a few months back myself. One of them had the RROD. I called microsoft - told them I purchased it at gamestop used and after a few questions and 'try this' scenarios they issued the RMA. I had a replacement within the week.

Your mileage may vary but microsoft honored their 3 year warranty on RROD with me. They also officially transferred ownership of that console to me in their records.
