If you call its easy. I called at exactly 8 weeks and they said they had been mailed and to allow 3-4 weeks and I got them the next day.

Someone told me you have to circle the item you bought on the rebate receipt? I guess I missed this when filling everything out. Will that mess up my rebate if I didn't do this?

I doubt it....unless you bought a lot of stuff along with your HD player.

cool, the only other things on the receipt were the free movies it came with and they all rang up as 0.00

It does say that on the rebate form but they are not held to this time frame. I mailed mine in on July 20 and I'm still waiting. I have called the 800 number and they tell me they are ready to be shipped but haven't shipped yet. They have been telling me this for over a month now. I have called once a week just to check, and every time they say that they will be shipping shortly. One month later and they are still shipping shortly. :mad: :confused: :eek: :rolleyes:

I ask every time I call and they say it's because demand was so high. I think 8-10 weeks should give them enough time for any amount of demand but what do I know...

I mailed mine mid- July and got mine last week! It's a nice surprise when you get them :)

why do you think? the longer they can delay fulfillment or not fulfill at all the better for them. They're waiting you out hoping you give up.

Rebates are the biggest ripoff in retail sales and this one is no exception. Unexpected demand my ass.

Do what I did...After the 8 weeks is up, call them EVERYDAY. The CSRs got so sick of me, they assigned a manager to me. It still took forever. I always put my rebate reminders in Outlook...I never let them get away with not sending a rebate. For over $100.00 of HD DVDs, I don't play around.

I read in the paper that some state (don't remember which one) is trying to outlaw mail in rebates. Basically, the store will have to reimburse you immediately. That's the way it should be. Sjp77 is right...They try to wait you out and hope that your forget about it. Not this kid...Will

Just called once again 2 weeks after the first time I called. Same exact to the letter robot response I got 2 weeks ago except this time she named off all the movies I had ordered...OOOOOOOHHHHH! :)

Guess I will just keep calling.

It always does. When DVD came out Warner offered a buy 3 get 1 free by mail offer; 10 years later I'm still waiting for my copy of PeeWee's Big Adventure.
