Hello,

i got a Panny Plasma 42px71EA (european model) , i plug my new Mac mini with DVI/HDMI wire, i can get 1280x720 with around 3% overscan, the picture is sharp enough to surf on the web.

But how to get rid of that overscan?

I tried all night to change the resolution with SwitchResX, i got black screen for hours...

Does anyone knows the right resolution in SwitchResX to feed a Panny Plasma 42px60 / 70 series with no overscan?

Thanks for your help!:)

Found these timings using a google search using displayconfigx hopefully they work for you. I have a 42px60 but my Mac mini is on order so I can't try the settings. Let me know if they work!!!

Timing

Horizontal;

Active 1224
Front Porch 136
Sync 80
Back Porch 208
Total 1648

Vertical;
Active 684
Front Porch 27
Sync 6
Back Porch 35
Total 752

Refresh Rate 60

thanks for the tip, i will try it soon.

i found this resolution fit my 42px71 screen pretty well:

1220x680

but it moves a bit to the left each time i start the mini, so i have to adjust again and again, looks like Switchrez dont keep the porch values...weird:confused:

tried 1224x684, it's ok but not perfectly centered, a few pixels are missing on the sides and bottom.

1220x680 fits perfectly, but i have to adjust the front porch values each time i boot the mini to keep it perfect...

sorry guys, how do you get 1280x720? I can't seem to find any option under the display icon... :(

the first time i plugged my Mini to my Plasma Panny, with HDMI, it just set at 1280x720 without to do nothing, same for VGA but at 1366x768.

Now 1220x680 is the near perfect frame with no overscan at 60hz
