View Full Version : anybody else think teh wireless headset is VER uncomfortable?
Saleen4971 11-01-07, 01:53 AM whatsup guys - i got sick of my wired headset, so i sprung for the halo 3 wireless piece. its nice, works fine, but tis jstu not comfy at all. i guess my ears are a little too big and fat for it, but it doesnt seem to fit me right, and the other piece that came with it is smaller than what is on there now.
am i the only one? is there a place where i can buy a bigger size ear loop?
wouldn't it be swell if the xbox had bluetooth and could use all the bundles of bluetooth goodies there are out there, like headsets?
of course it could never be that MS would use a sony product
Saleen4971 11-01-07, 02:51 AM you mean those comfy, well fitting reasonably priced wireless headsets?
why would they EVER want to use those?

Bluetooth a Sony product? Microsoft has been on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group founders list since 1999. They have more stake in Bluetooth than Sony.
The Wii also uses Bluetooth.
The reason Microsoft does not use it lies in the control market. They use a custom band so that you have to pay them to make something wireless. If you don't pay the royalty, you don't get to make wireless control. If they'd made it Bluetooth, anyone could make controllers and they'd not get squat for it.
Some companies like Mad Catz and such make their own wireless controllers, but those require a dongle to operate.
Chase117 11-01-07, 11:34 AM Those headsets are awful. They dont fit good at all for me and a bunch of my friends. To top it off the battery lasts like 4 hours.
chadly25 11-01-07, 12:08 PM You forgot to mention how they drop out at random times. I had to switch the earpiece from my right ear to my left just to help minimize the drops.
I can use my wireless controller on my main floor TV (Xbox is in theater) and it works perfect. I can't get the mic to work at all. Very poor range on these things.
Saleen4971 11-01-07, 03:49 PM i have only used it two nights, but i keep it on teh charger when its not in use, and i only sit 9 feet form my TV so i havent had any of thsoe issues. its just VERY uncofmortable and its almost distracting.
jsut gotta suck it up i guess....
sucks though, today i saw warhawk at best buy, $60 adn it included a jabra bluetooth headset

Saleen4971 11-01-07, 04:09 PM :( dotn make funz of my bad spelling :(
and laziness......
I had an old jabra earpiece from my old pre-blue tooth cell phone. It's comfy and works great. I'm sure they're dirt cheap now, in case anyone was looking for a smaller, cheaper alternative.
chadly25 11-02-07, 09:16 AM Wouldn't you think someone could make a dongle that can attach to your xbox controller that would allow bluetooth earpieces to transmit to it. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard since you have power there as well as a microphone input on the controller.
sewer.rat 11-04-07, 09:30 AM In theory, it wouldn't be too difficult to wire any non-powered headset into the adapter from the one that comes pre-packed with the 360. There's one audio lead for the earphone speaker and another for the microphone...
Heck, I've got headsets sitting here from various promotions over the years. Probably most people do as well. Chopping one of those up and adding a comfortable earphone and mic shouldn't be too hard.
Or just splurge for one of these:

vertigo235 11-04-07, 10:54 AM I like mine.
Swift Mojo Hand 11-04-07, 03:36 PM Make sure you have the "right" ear. Yes I mean your right ear lobe. The size engraving should face in. I know I would like a L ear piece instead of the M I have now. I bought mine from a friend so I do not have an L. It really does start to hurt after an hour of play.
/Anyone know how to get an L earpiece to replace my M ?

It's funny that you mention that, becuase mine came with an S and an M, I didn't get an L at all.
