Hey all,

I just recently purchased a Mac for productivity software at work. I was getting tired of using Windows for routine stuff. So far I have been quite pleased.

After playing around with the system for a while I've come to realize how great of a media server this Mac could be. I would love to be able to use the Mac to stream media to my Xbox 360. Does anyone here know how to set up both my Xbox and my Mac to do this?

Thanks.

I downloaded the software, but my Xbox 360 can't see any PC's. My Connect360 can see the Xbox, though.

Too bad you can't listen to iTunes purchases--that's at least 50% of my music collection :(

hum... worked fine for me - however, it won't auto-recognize per se. you have to go to system blade > computers > Windows Based PC > select your Mac

Or you can go to the music player in the media blade (rather than 'select music' in the guide) and do the first-time connection there. Once identified, the mac will show up in the guide when you 'select music.'

It is a drag that MS won't work out a deal to use the protected iTunes format, but not surprising. What I've done for some of my stuff is burn the purchased stuff to an audio CD, and then re-ripped them into iTunes. It sucks to have two copies of so much stuff, but it's nice to be able to hear some of the purchased stuff.

My favorite thing to do, however, is to stream internet radio MP3 streams through the 360 while I game. Just get the stream going in iTunes, and put it into a playlist. Then the 360 will see it in that playlist, and you can select it, and voila, streaming internet radio. Once you have it in the playlist, you don't need to have iTunes streaming it anymore. I have a pretty fat plsylist with lots of RadioIo channels and such stuff in there.
