Did I damage my speakers? I was setting up Onkyo 705 sound with Audussy for my 5:1 system. When I was finished, I had no sound, from any source. I was fiddling with the remote, volume strttings, etc and all of a sudden the CD kicked in and shot a blast of sound through my speaker system, which I was able to turn down in about 5 seconds. The speakers sound OK now, but I wonder if I did any damage with this sudden input of sound.

I'd say no unless your talking about blasting really high power to them and your amp was clipping. I actually made mine clip the other day because I had some settings wrong on my speaker setup. If it wasn't for long and the speakers sound fine then I'd say your okay.
I am no expert but from what I have learned here the tweeters will give out first and that would be obvious. I am sure there will be other, more knowledgeable people chime in on this.

If you didn't hear any distortion, pops, clicks or crackles and they still sound good you should be fine.
Even though all of us check and double check when we make changes to our system, there is always the chance of an accident happening. I've made a few in my day, but always came away without any damage. I would suggest that IF your system after the thunderbolt you sent it it working properly now, then hopefully you should be fine.
