I have had this philips CRT HDTV for nearly 2 years now, picked it up as a refurb. It had some problems when I got it(geometry etc that I fixed) but other than that it has been fine.

I use a DVI->HDMI adaptor to play video from my PC to the TV and have been using that connection for about a year.

About a week ago I was having a problem getting it to work in 1080i after resinstalling windows new drivers etc. It was just outputing in 480i or whatever. So I shut down and disconnected and reconnected the cables. After that there was no signal/picture top the TV at all- just the blank blue screen.

I have tried different drivers for my video card with no luck. I also tried a different HDMI cable with no luck- I suppose the adaptor could be bad but I have no way to test that right now- I can hook this box up to a different TV later perhaps.

Can anyone think of any diagnostic step I may have skipped or is there anything else I can do? If the port on the TV is bad I suspect it would cost more than the TV did to have it repaired. Thanks

Try unplugging the Tv from wall power, then connect the PC.
Check PC video settings.
Rollback the new drivers you installed and see if it works.

Will try those next- but after some thought I do not believe it could be the drivers because I used to get a signal to the HDTV on bootup from the post screen until it starts to load windows. I am not getting that now.

Could be correct... if you don't get POST splash screen display, it's before drivers are loaded. So... power reset TV and re-check the physical connections of cables.

Tried disconnecting/reconnecting the cables and still nothing.

Managed to hook up my PC to another HDTV with HDMI and it worked fine :(

Looks like a no go.

I've got this set too, and it's about two years old. I've had zero problems from this refurb. Sorry to hear yours is acting up.

I'm wondering if the problem could be something as simple as needing to clean the HDMI port. I know with other electronic devices I've had to do that occasionally. Sometimes disconnecting will result in a sort of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" situation; i.e., messing with it will cause trouble. Radio Shack carries an antistatic spray that you can use to clean the contacts.

Also, are you able to connect via composite or component from the computer?
