I just picked up a Harmony 550 on ebay for $31.00 :) It is pretty cool, easy to use, and my wife even likes it. Anyway I have it all set up and working great but I need some help tweaking some things.

When I watch cable TV I use the TV speakers. The level is usually set around 10~18. When I watch a DVD I turn the TV speakers down and use the surround sound through the AVR. Is there a way to set the TV speakers to "off" or volume all the way down when "Watch a DVD" is pressed and the "on" or up to "10" when Watch TV is pressed?

I searched for a similar topic but came up empty. If this has already been asked can somebody point to the correct thread?

I looked a little more into this tonight. My TV is a Sony KDF-E42A10..... I found a "toggle speaker" command in the Harmony software but I don't have a choice of "off" or "on." I assume this means if the speakers are off they will turn on, and if they are on they will turn off.

That would be a problem if I was last watching TV with the speakers "on" and next time I turn on the TV the "toggle" command turns them off.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well I guess I am talking to myself in here...

The best way I found to do it is with the "togglespeaker" command. When I press "watch DVD" it powers everything on and sends a "togglespeaker" command, then it sends another one when I power off. Seems to work ok so far.

Does your tv have a "mute" command?

Since your tv & receiver are probably both active devices in your "Watch DVD" activity, just add a custom command:

- To the start of the activity, to mute the tv, and
- To the end of the activity, to release the mute.

(Activities -> Settings-> Review the settings for this Activity -> Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity, then hit Save/next until you get to the prompt: Please review the actions for your Watch TV Activity. Select "Add action for" and choose the mute command for your TV.)

Thanks for the reply.

It does have a mute command, don't all TVs?

That is what I tried initially and it worked except that a gray box with "muting" stays in the lower left corner of the screen until you turn the sound back on. "speakertoggle" is doing exactly what I needed.
