So I was looking through on my past amazon orders of the month to see if any price changes occured so I could get the lower pricing. If people remember amazon offered the buy 1 disney blu ray title get 1 free deal so I was already saving alot.

Anyway, I had ordered Finding Neverland for 19.95 and Jay and Silent Bob for 19.95. Jay went down to 15.95 so I figured let me see if I can get the 4 dollars back not even expecting to get it.

My original billing looked like this and as you can see there was plenty of savings already with the additional 10 percent.

Item(s) Subtotal: $39.90
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Promotional Certificate: $-3.99
Promotion Applied: $-19.95
-----
Total Before Tax: $15.96
Estimated Tax: $0.00
-----
Grand Total: $15.96

after speaking to the lady she told me she was refunding me and I said thankyou and hung up. I checked my amazon order now and find this for me

Refund date: November 2, 2007
Refund Amount: $35.90

So amazon paid me to buy movies basically :p

That is SUCH an outrage for me. I contacted amazon.com TWICE about occasions where I paid more than the price was a week or 2 later, and they *refused* to refund me.

Is it Amazon's policy to do this? I know they do it on pre-orders until they ship, but I didn't know they would also do it retroactively after the movies shipped. I think a couple of the Fox titles I just bought would apply to this if it were true.

you have 30 days from the day the order was placed not shipped I was told. I've had it done on the fox titles, a few books and various other orders.

And as you can see above on a promotion deal :D

Amazon has some of the best customer service in the industry IMO. In the last 2 days they've refunded $16 on some of my recent BD purchases that have had price reductions.

Price adjustments are fine as long as the item has shipped within 30 days. However, for the BOGO promotions, any price adjustment is excluded, or should I say "should have been"?

sounds an awful lot like stealing...

I agree if they credit the whole order by accident and you keep the whole amount.

On the BOGO sales, I received a credit from them for $40.90, 31 days after I purchased some disney titles.:)
