I was just curious, after having a couple of friends over recently to view my HT, what are forum members favorite HD and SD movies to show all their glory in action? It doesn't have to be full features because most of the time when people come over, they just want to see what it really looks like.

Great question, I would assume some 2.35 animation would work...

No SD movies. They usually see plenty of that at their own place. I recommend Riddick(when they first take over the planet) HD DVD, Troy (opening scene) HD DVD, the DEMO HD DVD disc if you have it, Transformers (great pic Q and even greater sound) HD DVD, Chicken Little (any scene) Blu ray, Pirates of the Caribbean part2 (when they are in jungle) Blu ray, Rein Over Me (beginning shows good example of great black level), same for Mr. Brooks Blu ray, and if you want to really wow them show them a little of Ratatouille (any scene!!!) Blu ray... :)

I've actually had a disk made with a load of great HD scenes made that acts as a trailer reel when using my 5K. It seems to always get a better response than the main film. I'd recommend that to anyone

Lol.. asking a bunch of grown men to choose their favorite "money shot" for a projector is a dangerous task. Be careful opening any picture files.:p

I assume you mean the scene with the brightly lit skeletons against the black background. Yes, in a word "stunning" on the RS1. Definitely one of the top few scenes that quickly comes to mind.

Other scenes include the face-to-face sit down in The Hulk between father and son near the end of the movie, almost the entire Sin City movie in HD, several scenes from Ant Bully, and commercials on MTV HD and MOJO :D just to name a few.

Hello:

I find that the picture is the 'given' in the HT experience when I want to show my friends the setup. Just about everyone is blown away by whatever is on the screen (from both PQ and size). However, the sound is what really caps off the whole show.

I tend to show sports for the clarity of picture. But then I usually put in King Kong on HD DVD for the T-Rex fight scene and the brontosaurus stampede. With the sound up it's a great visual and audible show.
