View Full Version : all cod4 love, no blacksite area 51 love?
Mindwarper 11-02-07, 01:47 PM On 11/6 both games are supposedly dropping. But I see ads for cod4, none for blacksite area 51. I'm looking forward to both. I love co op and blacksite has co op campaign. The blacksite deom is uber short, but I liked it. Cod4 will probably be more polished, but I want both. Does cod4 have campaign co op?
Anyone know if both will be released and what's the best price? Will either have a release week sale?

No COD4 Co-Op. I can't understand why they don't do that. All the other games have it.
Circuit City sometimes has a $10 off promo for its new games during their first week of release, so you may want to check with them.
As for me, I'm actually looking forward to Area 51 more than CoD4; the sci-fi angle is more up my area and I really enjoyed the demo. CoD4 looks good but I don't know if I'm ready for another modern urban warfare game after GRAW1, GRAW2 and Rainbow Six: Vegas; I just may wait a while for that one.
CHAVAN30 11-02-07, 03:02 PM I also read on the xbox forums that BS: AREA 51 had been delayed a week.
properbostonian 11-02-07, 03:05 PM Folks are stoked for CoD4 since Infinity Ward is back at the helm. IW also developed CoD2.
I, too, liked the Blacksite Demo but it was too short. If it gets great reviews, I might jump but who knows.
HeadRusch 11-02-07, 03:59 PM I'm pretty sure that Blacksite pulled its co-op support in an announcement a month or two ago...but that might only be over LIVE, not sure about "in your house stinking up your couch next to you" Co-Op.
Mindwarper 11-02-07, 04:05 PM so sad, but I can wait a week. Halo 3, madden, and orange box have been keeping me busy. I don't think I will get any sleep when mass effect is released.
No co op on cod4 makes me sad.

jasonstiller 11-02-07, 04:46 PM Im looking foward to it but its gotten so overshadowed by COD4, Mass Effect and Rock Band. Ill get it but it will probably be after xmas.
Nics1246 11-03-07, 01:47 AM I, too, liked the Blacksite Demo but it was too short.
Its not a full demo. Its a teaser demo that was released months ago (in the Spring).
Jeremy Anderson 11-03-07, 08:09 AM Yeah, once they yanked co-op out of Blacksite, I kinda' lost interest. I was really looking forward to that feature.
FreeBaGeL 11-03-07, 11:26 AM I doubt I'll be buying any more FPS games that don't have online co-op. There's no excuse at this day and age, and with so many other great titles out and coming out it makes it easy to skip over a few.
HeadRusch 11-03-07, 12:18 PM Oddly enough, Co-Op is still the exception...not the rule. If you look to the PC, the godfather system of all FPS's and so on, Co-Op is virtually non-existant, only coming by way of 3rd party amateur mods in most cases (Co-Op for Quake 2 back in the day, Sven Mod for the original Half Life, etc).
But I agree...Co-Op is the great next-step-up from Deathmatch and Capture the @($ING Flag......every game should offer this, and those that don't do get a notch off in my book.
whiskey > work 11-03-07, 12:51 PM co op mission mode is the way to go. I rarely DONT play online, so this style suits my needs.
I can live without co-op on COD4 but what really burns me is that they did not include online splitscreen play. You cannot have a guest come on & play like you can on H3 or COD3.
This just sucks...does BS-51 have online multiplayer?
clevername 11-03-07, 02:03 PM I'm getting a little FPS overloaded right now, but I should be set for the winter.
Finished Halo 3, but I'll be replaying it. Have Medal of Honor waiting (and it'll be waiting for a while). Getting COD 4 next week. Then there's Area 51, Timeshift, and Half Life 2.
Throw in Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed, which will both take precedence over all but COD 4 for me and my plate is full.
(and I still haven't finished up Metroid Prime 3 on my Wii.)
Swift Mojo Hand 11-04-07, 02:16 AM WHAT!!! NO CO-OP with Area 51!!! Really!??! The game has gone gold, this cannot be real. I really enjoyed the teaser demo from this spring, please tell me that this game is still has CO-OP!! The game received high marks (97%). I am spoiled, I need my CO-OP!

Maybe you should require your friends to play some single player "Bubble Bath Adventure" before they come over. :p
lacombo 11-04-07, 08:50 PM I was looking for a new (better) demo.
someone will get it and I'll check it out. CoD will by my 1 fps.
Mindwarper 11-05-07, 01:04 PM I hope that rumor is wrong. Co op was one of the things I was most interested. Us vs a hoard of aliens. I just love campaign co o. Has the game been delayed?
