Thinking of getting the Premium for $349 or should I just wait to see what happens on BF and after Xmas?

Assuming the Hd-A2 sales may cause the PS3 and bluray prices to drop, this may in turn cause the 360 price to drop.

Much appreciated.

That is a very big assumption...get an Xbox now and enjoy it!

At most the price will drop another $50. So you have to ask yourself is it worth waiting 90 days to save $50 bucks.

That works out to what.. 55cents a day..

Thats IF a price drop even occurs. Not to mention you might lose out on getting a holiday bundle which includes two full version games worth atleast $20 bucks a piece.

I say get the xbox now and skip the cheese on your sandwich for lunch for next few months.

I certainly agree with Daekwan...I say get the system now and enjoy it! Plus if it does drop most places will price match 30 days. Just my .02

I agree. Buy now and enjoy. There is no reason to expect a price drop after the holidays. They have decent momentum right now riding the wave with Halo3 while Sony continues to hemorrhage.

Plus, I think MS has some exclusive content with GTA coming in the spring. This will sell even more 360's. So, we might not see another drop until next summer or early fall.

...There is no reason to expect another price drop, Microsoft is still eating a billion dollar boo-boo, I'm sure they're looking to maintain profit wherever possible to offset those warranty extension / repair costs.

Now...honestly if your new to the next-gen deal getting a 360 now is fantastic. Got mine in July and the best part is alot of great games are affordable on the cheap! Plus great titles this last half of the year like Bioshock, Cod4 make it a must buy. My wii probably hates me now.

If you buy locally, keep the receipt. Most places offer 30 day price matching. Just throwing that out there in case it didn't cross your mind.

Spend the money now cause if you wait 30-90 days you might say to yourself, hey this thing could have been paid months ago.

Halo 3 is out now.
Gears of War is out now.
Forza 2 is bundled in (so is Marvel Alliance).
Oblivion GOTY is out now.
BioShock is out now.
COD4 should be out now.
Assassin's Creed is due any day now.
Mass Effect is due on the 20th.
To say nothing of the dozens of older quality games in the catalog and on XBL arcade.
The more you wait, the bigger the backlog.
While you're debating the merits of a $20-50 price cut, there's gaming to be done!
You only live once and you're not getting any younger, so go for the gusto!
You *could* be struck by lightning tomorrow and never know the joy of 360 gaming! >;-)

(Did you really expect a different answer round these parts?) :-D

Okay, a bit more seriously:
The current bundles are not permanent. Right now you get Forza 2 and Marvel Alliance bundled in. Come january, the bundle is history. So the question is, which is a better value: a slightly lower price or the two games plus 2 months of quality gaming. This *is* the 360 you're talking about; no shortage of must-have games here. You're going to be beating the crap out of your box every free moment you have...
(just make sure you take regular breaks to eat, rest your hands and eyes and take care of body functions; we don't want to see you on the evening news.)

I would be more interested in getting a 360 with better cooling and a quiet drive than getting one for a few bucks off.

I am waiting for drives that are consistently quiet. On the plus side, the 360 does a good job of drowning out my RP tv, PS3 and the kids plying outside my window...:D

Just wait until 2009. How does that work for you?

Arent you just a ray of sunshine!!

Last I checked this forum was focused on great gaming.. not consistently quietly drives..

I think you may want to check out www.quietelectronicsforum.com because it sounds like your in the wrong place.

Get it now. There are too many 'vacation' days during the holidays to miss out playing. Plus half of the fun in playing the lastest games is to play during the hype. Halo seems to be still the #1 played game, but many are playing Orange Box and GHIII. When CoD4 and Mass Effect comes out another wave of hype as well. Tis good to be a gamer now. Thank god they did not have this magnitude of stuff when I was in college.

Keep an eye out for special deals for the day after Thanksgiving, especially Dell.com and Amazon.com.

You'll find something worth the wait then.

I would avoid the bundles...I hear you are most likely to get a non HDMI 360. If you do get one make sure before you leave the store it is a HDMI 360.

Wait until thanksgiving. After Xmas, there isn't a lot of sales so there won't be much discounting. Right before Thanksgiving up until New Year is your best bet. Even if they don't cut the price, usually they have free controller or free game deals. Of course, you can always buy now from a place like Best Buy that has price protection for 30 days.

The bundle on newegg says HDMI port, and that's what I got. It's the one on gamestop where it doesn't specifically state HDMI port in the description that I steered clear of. I have little interest in having to case B&M stores trying to find a deal. Click, click, wait to arrive on my doorstep.

Those Halo 3 Xbox 360s are going to be discounted deeply after the holiday period or during since nobody has been buying them. Best Buy and other B&Ms have TONS of them in piles around the stores.

I did notice the bundle at Best Buy did say HDMI in the description. Haven't bought it yet but maybe this weekend. Withe BB price guarantee, I'd probably get credit if they did drop the price after thanksgiving.

The overwhelming majority of bundles have HDMI, especially at B&M stores. They might not have the newer Falcon chipset though.

Do it now. Prices are nice, you get 2 free games for buying it(or 5 if you do the Arcade), and the games are here. Don't miss out on Halo 3, COD4, GH3, Gears of War, and others.

Get it now. When you do, using the free Silver Live membership you get I'd suggest that you download the free demos for Overlord and Ninety Nine Nights. They are underrated, underhyped 360 exclusive games IMO. ;)
