The tv is an RCA Model P60812BL that we gave my wife's parents a few years ago. A few days ago it simply would not come on. My FIL found that the fuse was blown and replaced it. He also decided to clean the inside of the tv out while it was opened. When he fired it up it worked but colors are misaligned and the picture is concave.

I have been doing some reading and found that calibration can be done, but can it be done by me on a set that was messed with internally. I have a 2003 Digital Video Essentials DVD, would that help?

I am no stranger to electronics, but have not been in the mix in about 10 years or so, but enjoy figuring things out.

sounds like you have a bad IC or a bad convergence board..
