Or try finding a Sony KD-34XBR970 34" new somewhere for a cheap price or get lucky finding a used one that's not all banged up. The Slimfit's smaller in size and has 2 HDMI, but it isn't near as good as the Sony in how the picture quality looks and the screen size does justice since it's a Wega.

I'm sure it is junk, but FWIW, RCA still makes a tube HDTV.

Are there any Sony's in the 30" or smaller range? Really want a crt but 32" kind of large for my situation. I only sit a couple feet away from the unit. I tried a 32" LCD and it was just too much.

Sounds like you need a nice Computer Monitor :)

I want to feed the display with a Directv HD box. The 26-28" size seems to be perfect, just havent been happy with a few LCD's that I have tried. The motion blur bothers me.

That's a tough request. Most HD CRTs were 30" and 16:9 or above, the 27" 4:3 Slimfit is still available and can be had pretty cheaply. Not a great choice in terms of PQ and reliability, although they seem to have less edge distortion that the 30" 16:9 Slimfits.

The newest (ie 2007 new model) LCDs are greatly improved in terms of motion blur/artifacting, but they're not cheap even in the 26" size range. So it really becomes a question of how much $ you want to spend.

I understand, I tried Vizio, Samsung and Olevia 26" LCD units and they all had the motion blur. Obviously these were not real expensive sets, but I would really like to not go much over the $500 mark. I wonder if any LCD computer monitors would be a better option? Most of them seem to be 16:10 though.
