I would say it takes about twice as long to rank up as it did in the beta. If that much. The hardest part though is playing against these guys that are already ranked so high. Adam on the Playstation board said there are guys ranked as high as 20 already!!

When did they start selling it up there? I was there last week (week of the 21st) but figured it was too early for anyone to be breaking street dates just yet, so I didn't spend any extra time looking around.

i played less than 4 hours "in game" time and i went to sleep tonight at level 18.

Its a awesome game! I'm playing it right now.. can't put it down either lol!

Too bad I'm stuck out of the country for a couple more weeks. Folks will be maxxed by the time I get a chance to play. Oh well, it's not like it's the end of the world or anything.

I had tons of fun with the MP beta and I'm hoping release will be even better. It will be good to have more than 3 maps to play though. The limited selection did get pretty old. As did the limited game types and lack of customization.

And hopefully there are more than 5 custom slots...

I believe it has to do with graphics processing. the xbox probably cant handle big maps or lots of players on split screen. i played split screen with 4 people for about 2 hours yesterday and every time you called in an airstrike the framerate would drop like crazy.

It's the IW guys that are at level 50 but i heard there are some level 30 average joe guys too.

Not heard.. but seen.. just finish playing with one guy ranked 38.

I've played 5 hours today and am at level 14.. played meaning PLAYED.. not system idle but 5 hours of actual shooting in online multiplayer. It keeps that stat of how long you have been gaming.. atleast on the 360 version.

I even missed the Colts/Patriots game.. :0(

i've seen my fair share of maps, probably most of them. the only 3 i dont remember seeing in a xbox live match are on the ship and the really tiny map with all the containers and the one that looks like a gladiator arena with the balconies. the exact names are shipment, showdown, and wet work. i can confirm these are the only ones i havent seen on xbox live. so i have played 13 on live and 3 havent come up. maybe its because we played mostly full 6 vs 6 games and those 3 maps are pretty small for full games.

For the people that like achievements, did you notice that there are no online achievements, unless I missed one. They seem all geared to the campaign mode. Good news for all you campaign lovers, could be some easy points.

There are 0 online achievements. Your rankings are basically your achievements online.

Bingo I think the 6 vs 6 Team Deathmatch fights are limited to those 5 or 6 maps.

There still are many many more modes.. I think 12 different online mutilplayer modes. The other maps are probably mixed up in there. I cant wait for the BIG TEAM battles to get going. 18 players.. 9 vs 9.

I just got back from Gamestop in South Street Seaport. They would not sell it to me unless I had pre-ordered it.

I ended up finding a copy at a shop on Nassau St. :D

Just like CoD2. However, I wouldn't call playing the campaign on Veteran "easy." :)

I am a proponent of off-line achievements. I'm actually happy that Halo 3 only has a handfull of on-line achievements. Too many could fuel rampant cheating or boosting.

Apparently lots of Game Crazy stores are selling it today without a pre-order. I just called my local one and they said there are lots of copies left, so I'm on my way there now.

Its definitely being sold at many places today. I just finished playing online for about 2 hours and there were over 10,000 people playing online already. I saw one guy up to level 40. Plenty in there 20's and 30s.

I bought it at Gamecrazy at 7pm. It was the only store I could find in Colorado which had received it's shipment.

I may buy it in a couple of hours when I head into town, even though I am in Alaska almost everything gets flown in, oranges from Chile in the winter etc. We usually don't lag much behind a large lower 48 city in most stuff. Those that are playing it is it as good as the reviews say?

Dude you could have went 2 miles up the block.. to 61st and Bergenline and got the game last Saturday for $60 bucks cash. Cheaper AND Earlier than Gamestop.

Or they take the money invest it in the market earning off of preorders and then profit off of that. The preorder fee in no way covers any irregular shipping. These places all get there deliveries at about the same time(Target, Ebay, Gamestop). They do sell on different dates though. The gamestops in my area hoboken and NYC always order more than there preorders...although they always tell me that they are going to not have enough of a title unless i preorder....If I go there the day of, it's in. Even the day after. I just refuse to pay into there preordering and unfair trade ins. THey are running a heck of a business off of it though....I can't believe all these little kids trading there crap in all the time. They could make more selling it to their friends or having mom or dad hawk it for them on E-Bay. I just hate seeing this store take advantage of and capitalize off of kids.

wow. I would have had a hard time not laughing in the guy's face. their 'preorder or you can't get it on launch day' policy is one of the (many) reasons I avoid that place at all costs.

I was able to get my game wednesday night at our local Walmart, it just came in and they were scanning it into the computers, had to sweet talk myself into getting one and I was the first person to get it, they were not in any hurry to get it on the shelves, played it for several hours and my impression is that its breaking some molds, its good, its NOT Halo but is definitely worth the money.

The damn war room level is kicking my ass (on hardened level, first time playing) Played it for like 45 minutes.
