What kind of player do you have ?

What is the FW version ?

I watched all 3 Spiderman movies on my BD-P1200(latest FW from 10/2007) and only one slight issue.
On SP2, when they are over at PP Aunt house celebrating his birthday, when ML is in the back in the kitchen, she seemed to stutter for a second but no audio cut out. I then rewinded the part and it didn't do it again. Not sure what that was but nevertheless, I thought I meniton it. SP1 and 3 had no issues at all.

Defective discs or player, more likely player. Return the sucker!

Id say return the set. If it still does it cheek for a FW update.
If that dosent fix it might need to fix the player. Id imagine its just the discs.

Bring it in to BB and have them check the Movies on one of the players in the store.

That should tell you if it's your player or a defective SM set.

Again, what's the player and what's the firmware?

It just may be that you need the latest firmware download.

Pretty sure that's your reason for the troubles. Call Phillips for a disc, or visit their website and download the latest update and install it.

just an update to my original post..I downloaded the firmware update from Philips web site , unzipped to a data cd but it would not load to update the philips 9000 player. I called Philips and spoke to a technician who said he was not aware of the Spiderman non playing problem, but confirmed other blu-ray discs either stuttering or not playing at all. They are waiting for a new disc to update the firmware and advised l call back in a few weeks to see if it was in and they would send it to me, and said it should take care of the problem..just wanted to let other owners of the Philips 9000 know this in case they are experiencing problems. Thankyou to all of you who responded, l am most grateful for all the input. Kindest Regards to all..multicat

Did you just copy the firmware update to the data cd (like you would with a picture, word document, etc...) or created a CD using the firmware image? There is a big difference and probably why the Phillips didn't update.

This is likely the issue.

If that doesn't work, try using the latest Samsung BDP1000 firmware. I have a Philips also, and updated it with the Sammy firmware, and it works flawlessly. I watched Spiderman 3 last night without one problem.

Also, like stated before, make sure you're burning the image file correctly. Whatever program you use, make sure you select "burn image", not just a plain data disc...otherwise it won't work.

Just an update..l recieved the new Philips firmware upgrade disk and it loaded and worked perfectly. Spiderman blu-ray trilogy plays perfectly. Too bad Spiderman 3 was such a poor film compared to the first two. Again thankyou to all who responded.
