LOL! juvenile names are fun!

Apparently.

It was nice playing with you guys last night, Scrub, Codester, actuat, diddy, FN, DaMeaTree, Beetfarming, a couple TWW guys and I think Vinny was in there for a couple. We had a pretty good group going for a while. We pretty much got our butts kicked while playing HTDM but it was still fun. Once we switched to good ole TDM, we went back to the dominating ways.

Then after that group disbanded the next group started and we did alright. Diddy seemed a little tired after his softball game so he wasn't on long.

Then FN and I joined up and when we first started someone made fun of his name and I think it pissed him off cause he was doing crazy good.

Hopefully one of these days there will be enough people on all at the same time that we can get a full 18 private match going and destroy each other on Shipment and/or Killhouse. Oh the hilarity that would insue.

I must have been died 12 times in a row without a kill on HCTDM....I sucked and obviously don't play it much.

My problem is that I run and gun too much....silencer....who needs one, UAV jammer....nah, just run fast...dead, dead, dead. I could not even get off a melee before the other guy...so I really have to learn better control with shorter sprints and better setup for the shot.

Anyway, good education and had fun. I need to work more on team tactics in HTDM.--Beet

Wouldn't mind warming up with some TDM and then doing some objective based games...HQ, Dom, SnD etc.

That one game last night on HTDM on Crash where I was on the other team was kinda funny. The team I was on the whole time was saying how you guys were so good. Then I had the most kills on that team and kept killing you guys and they were saying how I should be on your team. haha. I just told them that they invited me. I just had a good game with my ACOG M16 for once. The only map I do good with that gun usually is Showdown.

That was my first HTDM match ever (through 7 prestiges) and I got owned. I have to say I'm not a big fan. Right after that my wife wanted to finish Uncharted on PS3 so I figured I would let her play. I'll be on for sure tonight, feel free to invite me as long as its not another Hardcore game.

I honestly hate HTDM. I mean its definitely more realistic but its too realistic. Its slows the game down to much for my taste. I also have to change all of my weapon setups around for it. And really need to turn on surround sound to be successful. With no radar map.. the sound is just as important as the HD graphics.. in being able to locate where the threats and action is.


I just like to shoot people. Plain and simple. So TDM is about absolute perfect for me. I love the fact radar isnt a gift, but a shot shows up on radar. So you know where the enemy is. Load your clip, run over to that dot and start shooting.

Alot less thinking.. Alot more fun.. in my opinion.

I'm with you. Last night was actually my FIRST time doing Hard Core and I'm on my 10th prestige!! :eek:

It was ok though, not my cup of tea however. I'm also the run-n-gun type, but I forced myself to slow down for it. The one thing I did like was how effective the G3 was, because I hardly ever can justify use it in the other game modes.

For me I enjoy Headquarters/Deathmatch the most.

HQ and TDM are my favs as well...

I've been in HQ games where my team won but our K/D ratio is 2:1, that is death:kill ratio...we got absolutely owned in Wetworks...Those guys were good except they didn't cap the HQ rather just focused on kills. They also ended up with more points just for the kills.

I've had games in Merc TDM with kill counts in the 40s and 50s...(I think I put it here a few pages ago) with AK-47 and Juggs so it's not entirely limited. depending on who you are playing with and their skill level, the kill count seems to go up and down accordingly...

So, I dropped off the wife and in-laws at LAX last night, I'll be on Live tonight after 7:30pm until maybe 11:00.

Then I'll be on all weekend.

Wow, how I miss epic gaming sessions.

I usually have to be in the right state of mind to play HC. With TDM and HQ I can just run around and especially with HQ my goal is right in front of me the whole time so it is pretty mindless. Sometimes I just like to mindlessly run around killing people or dying whichever one it may be.

Overall it doesn't really matter what gametype it is as long as I'm having fun.

Ive been tied up with MGS4 but I may be on tonight for a bit. I need to play some before my new 60" Kuro arrives as I wont be playing on it till I get the break-in done. :cool:

I do understand where raks is coming from though. Imagine going to a bar and then all the guys just go sit on a stool, order drinks and then politely smile at each other and drink by themselves either looking at their drink glass or out the windows or whatever.

In some weird way though, the first few times that we played, even though we didn't talk, it was as if we were all on the same wavelength since we were pretty much dominating every game...as if there was no need for talking...

To be fair, this AVS group is also pretty new so I'm sure we're all trying to get a feel for each other...

I try to reply. I prefer playing in a group so If I do not respond I may be in the middle of a match and dont want to switch the to dashboard. I usually send a note when I get back to the lobby...

I have a weird problem. I brought it up last night. My NAT connection is open, but if I try to play in a group where anyone else is NOT open (i.e. Moderate) I get tons of errors and server problems. That might have been why I had a problem staying in the group last night.

I think we should talk a little more too. At least about tactics (i.e. Sniper on the Hill!) I keep my mike on mute though so you do not have to listen to me whine! I turn it on when I need to say something or to answer questions.

also, I tend to talk more during HCTDM because calling out enemies is important (what with no KillCam/Radar and all)

one of the main reasons I sit in front of a TV, is so that I don't have to talk;)

me and the old lady are starting disk 4 of BSG Season 1 and so far it's been an awesome show.

I have to say that I hate comcast more since they eliminated SCI-FI from regular cable a while ago thus making me miss all the BSG goodness...

we had to visit her sister in law in the city last night but we wanted to make the most of the traffic travel time so we brought the laptop along with headphones and watched disk 3 of BSG in rush hour traffic and finished it on the way back. I can't believe what is going on with Boomer and 6 and etc. etc.

Can't wait for that show in someone's sig...forgot the title, it's on the CW, best shows on Tv etc. I want to start that from Episode 1 season 1...Oh and we've also finished season's 1-3 of Weeds...that's also a fun show to watch!

Good games last night. Had some connection problems sorry about that.

As for chat (or lack of it). I noticed it last night too. We had the same issues when our clan started. The bar analogy is perfect. I think as we played more games last night the chat picked up. I even heard a few chuckles when I cut my self down for some piss poor play. Eventually we'll start cutting each other down and having big laughs right in the middle of games That's why I'm hooked on online play with familiar voices. It's just more fun than playing with random people in a room.

Now on to HC... I find it difficult to play regular mode since I'm spoiled with one hit kills from HC. I've found I like the challenge of playing regular mode since it requires me to have better follow through with a kill. In HC I shoot/kill/run about that fast. In Reg I'll have to get back in the habit of shoot/unload almost a clip to kill/make sure their dead/run. I've noticed I'm doing better in HC after playing reg TDM.

I hope you HC haters will keep at it. I'm not very good at the game period and I was probably the worst of any player at HC when I first started. If you like S/D, I think you'll find nothing more satisfying than HC S/D. That game mode will make you communicate and use tactics. That's what I like.

It was fun last night guys, sorry I wasn't able to play more since we had company but it was all good. took a little time going back to the MP5 but it fit like a glove...

That first game that I joined where you guys were a group and I got stuck with a different team (Domination: Broadcast), all I kept hearing was the constant complaining that you guys were everywhere...I think one guy even said "These kids are like little ants! They're everywhere!"

Anywho, probably won't be on tonight till much later so hopefully I'll catch up with you guys then :)

Last night was pretty fun. We are not very good at Domination games in Ground War. We lost I think every one of those games. We even had enough people to have a full team of AVSers in Ground War.

Played an interesting private match earlier in the night of HQ on Killhouse. If we ever got a full 18 on that map it would be crazy.

I even ended up playing a game with Codester's GF. Scrub invited her after everyone else had gone to bed. She was the only one really talking in the room and even commented on how little we really talk.

It was kinda fun when everyone was just starting to get online and would just join the game in progress not in a party. It seemed like everytime it would be me on one team with random people and three or four of the AVS guys on the other team. I think diddy just waited for me to come around corners so he could blast me with the RPD.

I am also not a fan of the G36 now. Even with SP on if it wasn't a head shot it took a number of shots to bring someone down. Wastella was kickin my butt a couple of games with the MP5. I'd throw a couple of bursts dead into his chest and I was the one who was dying.

Oh well, all in good fun.

We need more people that play in the morning! After going 60-11 in wetworks everyone left =(

I feel the same way, I think Assassin's Creed is the only game I have rented lately that I played without getting bored and going back to Call of Duty

Okay throwing this out here to you guys because I want some feedback.

I play in a modest adult clan of 24-37yrs old and we have fun and work as a team and focus on HQ.

Why do 12-17 yr olds absolutely throw a fit if they have a better k/d then getting trounced on every HQ? I mean 250-0, 250-35, etc. But because we split clan duties like 3 ppl HQ people and 3 killers/guarders we get alot of 7-17 k/d or 15-17.

They seriously act like they owned the whole world...and we're like "NOT TEAM DM"

Maybe I'm just uberly annoyed and I know im not an awesome player..but these kids just have no clue.

Sorry about the rambling I had some free time and wanted to put down some of my thoughts.

Okay throwing this out here to you guys because I want some feedback.

I play in a modest adult clan of 24-37yrs old and we have fun and work as a team and focus on HQ.

Why do 12-17 yr olds absolutely throw a fit if they have a better k/d then getting trounced on every HQ? I mean 250-0, 250-35, etc. But because we split clan duties like 3 ppl HQ people and 3 killers/guarders we get alot of 7-17 k/d or 15-17.

They seriously act like they owned the whole world...and we're like "NOT TEAM DM"

Maybe I'm just uberly annoyed and I know im not an awesome player..but these kids just have no clue.

So you win 250-0 or 250-35 and the other team brags about K/D ratios in the game lobby? If that's the scenario, I say just win baby!

Before hooking up with the AVS crowd for games I had everyone not on my friend list muted so the lobbies were pretty quite.

I do like how you have split out assignments for the team. I think (I know)we'll get better as we spend more time gaming together and learning each others habits and tendencies while in game.

Here are some things we worked on when we first started out in TWW to get better working as a group:

-We moved together as a group.
-We split out duties to cover entry points to areas. This helped to protect snipers from stealth attacks. It also allows each team member to focus on the area in front of them and not worry about flank attacks. If someone would die they call out the location and someone would run over to backup and plug the hole. Think silo area and house on downpour. (last night on district we resorted to that on the back alley spawn and the gas station for a little bit)
-We have to watch each others backs.
-Control the spawn areas. This is real important. We should pick the spawn with the best tactical advantage and hold it. If it means rushing to flip the spawn then we should. Think creek map. If you spawn at the bottom you're in trouble.
-communicate contacts and deaths. This gives a mental picture of enemy movements to setup a choke point.
-Communicate airstikes in HC mode since you can demolish your own team.
-Stay in a game room with other good people. Last night I noticed some joking with the other team. It was light hearted and makes gaming fun. Our clan will normally back out of a room of foul mouthed punks or trash talkers rather than listen to their jive.
-Keep everyone involved. Trying not to rag on the guy 4 & 18. hey that's me;) Our clan, and I see this from the AVSers, is about gaming with other gamers to have fun. I as most others have limited gaming time and want to have fun while I game online.

If my team wins I could care less what the other team is saying. The thing that annoys me the most about HQ is when you get a really good team against a relatively bad one and the good team won't just go ahead and capture the final Headquarter to win the game, instead they form a perimeter around it and just kill people till the time runs out. Now if it's like 30 seconds till the game is over, alright, that's not a big deal, but when there is like 4 minutes left just capture the damn thing so everyone can move on. Those are also the games when I am usually the only one trying to capture any of the Headquarters. If you aren't gonna try then why the hell are you playing an objective game. If you wanna just kill people go play TDM!

I think one of the problems is that some of us playing together now are used to being one of the only good players on a team. So our tendency is to try to do everything ourself and we forget we have other competent people playing with us now to help out.

You can see it if you ever play against any of the guys on here. You always seem to run into the AVS guys on the other team. We have the same thought process. Last night was a good example, I kept running into wastella, and diddy over and over again and it was only in 1 on 1 battles. We both wanted to flank and kept meeting up in the same place.

It just takes time to learn how to play as a group. We'll get there.

Well I think its a case of running into TDM wannabes in every HQ. Lets face it..if you concentrated on stalking the HQ position you could easily go 60-5, but thats called team deathmatch. I think that HQ draws ppl in because of the high points involved.

Guy on there team goes 20 - 13 and they get creamed. Of course the mute button works great when your not in the match countdown with the host.

Its just annoying is all that I'm onto. Most of these people afterwards will just up and quit because they're getting creamed and thats the last I hear of them. I run into some great older people who beat us fair and square and just outplay us..and instead of my top guy saying hes 50-15 we're like GG. Sick of kids is all.

to add and reinforce a few things regarding HQ (gosh, I played enough of that frigging game type):

- learning tendencies is an absolute must…some people are great at sneaking around, some people are awesome snipers, some people have great timings on things, etc. etc. etc. I think learning tendencies is the first way to specialize a team. Like previously mentioned, 3 killers, 2 cappers and a sniper on most maps seem to be the most balanced. Usually, 4 killers and 2 cappers for smaller maps to extend the primary perimeter and help at least buy some time for the people deep in HQ to react to the incoming enemies
- learning how to control the spawns is also key. No need to extend resources past a certain point if it’s not needed
- listen to when someone says “spread out” or at least if you hear it, press select button to check how many are dead on the opposing team.
- Since spreading out is key, that means remembering where the stupid HQ pops up is just as important…that way, you know exactly where to go or at least start heading in that direction
- I don’t know if enough people pay attention to the map, it at least gives you an idea where people will be coming from
- Another thing that seems to be overlooked quite a bit is the North-South-East-West orientation of the map. Easier to call out vs. saying “they’re by the truck…” (when playing in countdown for example, other places aren’t so bad, gramma’s house, barn, library, gas station, back alley, 3 story building, blue room, etc.
- I’m sure there’s more but my last and most important (at least for this post) DON’T DRINK TOO MUCH!!!


On to other points

It’s annoying as f*ck when these kids start talking how they are soo good. Sometimes it warranted if they are THAT good but 19 times out of 20 they’re not all that especially if the next round they suck it up bad. I like to dabble in the occasional trash talk and it’s all in good fun anyways.

When my team loses and then the top guy boasts about their high KD ratio is a pet peeve…congratuf*ckinglation buddy, you helped the team lose

I think I also speak for everyone that we all appreciate it when people just say good game and vice-versa…makes gaming enjoyable

No problem. It was kinda funny when she said I'm hungry then just got out of the game.

Yea you should see all the losses she has on her stats. When she doesn't like a level she just leaves as soon as it starts. The first time she played HC SnD and not the regular she went nuts. She always wants the bomb first when it starts even though she gets killed like 30 seconds later. In HC she shot the guy that took the bomb first and when he died she started freaking out bc she didn't know that team kills were on. haha. I laughed so hard and she was apologizing a lot to the guy and just quit so she wouldn't kill anyone else. haha. She is fun to play with but sometimes I turn my headset off. haha

He he, I hear ya on that. If my daughter falls asleep in the living room or in my arms for that matter, it's always a task to get her to her room without waking her. Luckily she's been very keen to her bed (as her room is the coolest one in the house) and it's running close to 100 degrees lately, here in SLC.

Multiplayer Issue - PLEASE HELP

I was playing last night and weet into my 4th prestige mode. I made progress to level 9 and when I was in the lobby the screen went blank and booted me out of the lobby. It would not ley me back into the lobby. I had to back all the way out and when I got back it I was back to a 55......this happend 10 times and I can't level up......WTF

Sorry I had to jump out early after demolishing those guys in HQ, Quasi. My daughter woke up so playtime for me is done until 7 PM. Hopefully I can bring those same skills tonight when I play, I had a pretty good K/D ratio.

This is getting frustrating, I keep losing progress and its driving me crazy. I played 10 games last night and got booted out and lost all my points.......That 10 games down the toilet!

Any advice?

The just showed the HK MP7. Which as you guys can guess is the "betterment" version of the MP5.

Since COD1-3 were already WW2 based. COD4 was modern combat and easily the most successful title in the series. COD5 will return to WW2. So its seems like the designers are running out of conflicts. Why not make one up.

Why not make COD6 about wars that have not happened yet, but could be a possibility in the short future. And I'm not talking about Halo like future wars where you are fighting humans vs. aliens. It could be about current situations that make turn into future conflicts. At the top of my list it could be about defeating *unnamed* rogue nations seeking nuclear weapons.

I have an opportunity for a friendly clan match against a couple of clans. These clans are not professional gaming clans, but a group of friends that game together for a good time (sort of like what we do). I'm shooting for this Friday night around 9:00 pm edt. Simply quote reply this message if interested so I can get a count of players.

As for specific player skill level or prestige to join the fun, here's what I'm looking for: anyone with a working 360, headset, controller, and has a copy of COD4. If you got that, you're covered. It's gonna be about the fun and seeing how we do against other organized groups.

Any advice?I can't tell you how many times I've had to redo Marksman challenges, ranks, etc. Supposedly, the server gets messed up. If you notice this again, log out/off and then go back and restart cod 4. It will sometimes fix itself, sometimes not. It's very hit or miss. DO NOT PLAY OR CHANGE ANYTHING !!! If you do, it will overwrite you original progress. Sometimes, you will have no choice but to do it again. I always make sure I remember where I was when I log off.

I know what you mean, though it sucks. I have had whole ranks disappear.

Our first and only clan match went HC TDM with clan v clan. After several rounds of that we eventually went to auto assign matches that intermixed the clans. That was big fun. I don't recall us venturing into other game types though. With all the game options available we can pretty much do whatever, but mostly HC.

Good times last night, but I have to stop staying up so late, cause I'm always dead tired at work.It was fun playing with a full avs crew vs a half avs crew. Part of me wishes I was on the half avs crew so I could shoot Quasi from way across the map with that RPD :) But Im sure as I was lining up my sights Micah would come around and shot with me the MP5

Some pretty good games last night. Wasn't really in the mood to play HC in the beginning but it was still fun.

Sorry I left out early, didn't get a whole lot of sleep over the weekend and I had a headache that was killing me.

I don't know how much I will be on this week, my sister and nephew are in town but hopefully I will be able to get on later in the evenings around 9 CST.

Good games again last night. I don't know if this happened with the half crew on the other team but I was finally able to get my 2nd expert challenge with the M21 last night and I'm more than happy to be done with that stupid gun. I swear I think that the gun is probably only good for HCTDM/HCSAD since it's useless against people in regular game types.

I hopped off and started using the Dragunov and was immediately better than when I was using the M21. I believe it was in Overgrown and I was covering A (covered bridge) during a domination match in the Ground War hopper and used 5 bullets to get 5 head shots and an airstrike. I think the slightly higher damage rating combined with a less than unruly barrel is a good mix for stepping up from the M21. The M40A3 is still my sniper rifle of choice.

Yeah it was definitely fun playing against another AVS crew. tlvaj and raks along with formidable were able to bring a little bit of balance to the force...TL is a beast BTW

I've learned to fall in love with the MP5 and there is nothing that has yet taken it's place (since I'm methodically trying to finish all my guns for at least a shot at the golden guns before Deakwan predicts COD8: Galactic Warfare. I will say though that I'm looking forward to using the AK-74U with a silencer but that's not for a looong while.

After watching the creation of life for our solar system on Discovery network last nite, I have came up with this great idea that COD31 should be based on the nucleosynthesis cosmological model that a new universe can be created by players using mere psychokensis and telepathic energy. That same energy can be focused into primordial hot and dense initial condition that are able to cause the destruction of such created universes.

Players will be able to engage in COD31: Quasi-Steller Planetesimal Celestrial Satellite Warfare in the present, past and future. Players who have died and passed on to our heavenly father for judgement, players from our lifetime, and players who are yet to be created and born are all able to compete in COD31.

Kill 3 planets in a row: You recieve galaxy radar showing the location of every planet in the galaxy.

Kill 5 planets in a row: You recieve a Supernova strike capable of wiping out entire solar systems.

Kill 7 planets in a row: You recieve 30 seconds of Gods own power to grant you the abilty of alpha and omega.

You guys were killing me where ever i popped so up i had to go underground with that UAV jammer. The team i was on suck like crap, everyone was camped out where we first originally respawned. I had no one watching my back on the front lines, so i couldnt get anything going, killed one or two guys and then get popped myself. You guys constantly had a UAV up in the air. It was a good time. and mikeloxlong that MP5 is probably one of the most balanced guns in the game.

Dude how do like the R700. I found the recoil to be too much, especially for a bolt action sniper rifle. To hard to get consecutive back to back shots off.

It seems like all M-series guns are the most balanced weapons in their perspective classes. The MP5, M16, M4, M1014 and M40A3. Those and the RPD are all I ever use. Shyt thats pretty much my 5 classes right there.

haven't been able to get on much at all recently, but started my summer vacation yesterday, so I'm intending to make up for lost time. what time do you guys typically start? I EST and good to go any time after 9.

I really need to start paying attention to what you guys are playing if it tells me. I think when I joined that match I didn't know it was free-for-all until the match started. I think I've played FFA a total of 3 matches now, so yeah, not exactly my comfort zone. Sorry to steal your glory. There were a lot of people in that game camping.

Anyways, I'm close enough to my next prestige that I want to get that done, which means when there aren't a lot of people on I will mostly be playing HQ.

If I'm on tonight it will most likely be later on in the evening like 10 or 11 CST.

the R700 is a tough gun as well but I like the damage on them. at least it doesn't take a friggin head shot (ala M21 which is a sh*tty M series gun) to bring a gun down...

I just want that golden dragunov and getting headshots using the sniper is going to be the faster way for me to get it (compared to the AR, SMG, LMG, shot gun)

I've been using my girl's Xbox until I move and re-buy another 360. Thankfully, the bastards that stole my 360 and ps3 didn't take the 120gb HDD, so all I need is to buy the 360 Arcade, though I'll miss the Elite black. My friend says he can get me the black 'box' of the 360 Elite.

Haven't been playing COD4 lately. Been busy with Ninja Gaiden II, and we took out the 15mbps cable modem (since we're moving soon). Been stuck using the neighborhood DSL/LAN or whatever connection which is quite crappy. You guys know how anal COD4 is with internet connections. Gotta have the best or you're gonna lose in a firefight every time.

Hopefully within a few weeks, I'll be back to pwning some guys with le Skorpion, G3, and M14. ;)

As for using a big screen, I find it hard to adjust to. Hell, I played with my friend's account on his 52" and I found it too big and had to move back, just to be able to view all the action. I did however had two straight TDM matches going 25+ kills and less than 5 deaths with an uncustomized AK47. Seriously, that gun with SP/DT and Steady Aim is ridiculous. I'd look into it with my account, but you know how much I rely on Dead Silence. I would never add RDS or a Silencer to it. Don't wanna give up how powerful it is for unnecessary accessories.

My 40" (from about 4 feet away) is a godsend for FPS gaming, I think. I can see everything without having to move my eyes too much.

That being said, I wanted a 58"+, but just can't afford such things right now.

Double Tap. The AK47, AK74, M60, M249 SAW and P90 are about the only weapons great with it (IMHO). Making slow rate of fire weapons fast, and making fast ROF weapons even faster is a good thing indeed. For every other weapon, SP, UAV Jammer, and Overkill make more sense.

Good games again last night fellas! That was awesome the first time that we all hooked against another team in TDM and it was complete and total destruction (in Vacant). It must have been the fastest TDM match in ground war that I have ever played...

I must admit though, when I play with the AVS crew, I feel no pain, I feel no remose, I feel like stomping the other team's head to the ground. Like I've got a good group of people that I can back up and help back me up!

my worst game last night was the first one. I jumped into the map in the middle, and found myself stalked by Micah. thinking I'd have time in the lobby to switch my classes off of HC setting, I pumped full clips of nonSP bullets into Micah, only to continually get dropped.

Micah you must have your sensativity up all the way, because anytime you are ever on my screen, your guy looks like it's having an epileptic seizure. it's impossible to get any kinda bead on you, and not having SP doesn't help. so horribly frustrating.

luckily we ended up on the same team the rest of the night, but during GW, there was a guy on the other team that had the exact same spaz quality that Micah has. I think he was like lvchip or something. is he AVS too? everytime I got near him, his guy would do the jutter dance, with me ending up knifed or blasted before I even shot (though I was pulling the trigger at the time).

I'm trying to get to around 6-7 so that my panning is trigger quick.

I just run everywhere and shoot everything that moves which is why I'm terrible in HC

Oh and learning to control heart rate when in the middle of a firefight also helps and is infinitely more accurate than the spray and pray method.

I think it has to do with being able to bounce (strafe) back and forth quicker, making it more difficult to put your sights on.

I notice all the good players bounce around back and forth (like a tweaker), making themselves a harder target. it must be an old Halo technique, because I don't have it, and never will. that's why I DO like HC. bounce around all you want, I see you, hit you once or twice, and down they go.

they zig zag, like you said it makes them a harder target. it's a popular technique in any shooter, and it was the same way in GR and GRIT, so much so that my friend's gamertag was ZigZag1. he was the best at it, at least over anyone else that i saw...

figured as much, though terribly unrealistic. again that's why I prefer HC, takes zigzaging out of the picture, because I can pop them during the zig, and they're down, before they can zag:cool:

I was doin pretty good with the grenades last night. I'd kill a guy, lob a grenade in a usually crowded area get a double kill and a UAV. In one game I think it happened like 3 times.

My airstrikes were deadly (except on Vacant), where usually I miss completely:(

that game actually pissed me off, only because i get into the lobby and a second later the map starts loading, so there goes any opportunity to create a class for it, so i got stuck using the classes that i usually use for wide open maps. i just get pissed off when i get thrown into a game, usually on Vacant and Wet Works because those are the only 2 maps that i like to use map specific classes for other than maybe Bloc and Backlot, and i get stuck with classes that i don't want to use...

i felt so bad, because when the game starts diddy told me he needed some help, so i told him no problem. then i went negative, and i felt bad. I LET DIDDY DOWN! :mad:

p.s. I played a little but this morning and played around with the silenced AK with SP...it's deadly...31-6 merc TDM and then I get stuck with ALL the inexperienced players from the round before...still ended up with 20+ kills but the rest of the team ended up with 20+ deaths....needless to say, it wasn't fun...

I played one game last night in I believe it was HQ where I think I was the only one doing anything. I had 30 kills and the rest of my team was under 5! I honestly couldn't believe it. I have never seen it that far off. I triple taked to make sure I was looking at the right stat.

I got pretty used to the silenced MP5 last night. It took a bit to get used to using it from the P90, but it is very nice playing Ninja style except that I still run around and find the other team instead of sneak but Ninja style sounds awesome.

Later on in the night I was in a party with diddy and some of his friends and then Velvet and actuat got on for a little while on the other team. There were some fun games in those sets. I think Velvet and actuat were looking for me to kill cause they were the ones that got me most of the time, ha ha.

I'm close to another prestige, I lost count of what one I am on, so it should be interesting playing with or against some of you guys without my favorite weapons and such.

Oh ok. I mainly have it setup as what the class defaults to weapon class wise. I just change the primary weapon in each class when I finish the marksman challenge. The only exception is with the M4, since this is my main weapon and I never use shotguns, I put the M4 with SP and usually Extreme Conditioning, and whatever is there for perk 1 until I get 3x frags on slot 4. I hadn't really started using the sniper rifles until this last prestige, so that slot was usually open. I've found I can use the M4 setup above with just about every map and have pretty good success. Only starting 2 days ago did I start to use the MP5 on more maps.

Its ok I guess. Its awesome that everything can blow up though. Its kinda hard to see who your teammates are though. I like controlling the helicopter. There is almost no warning that somebody is shooting at you until a split second later and then your already dead.

I tried to save a new game save today and found out my HDD is full. haha. That stupid Endwar beta took up almost 3GB.

DUUUUUDDDEEE!!! Those weren't "random" grenades!!!

I was able to get some leaked code of the physics engine that they use for the game and found a way to seemingly make the grenades fly farther.

ok, maybe I'm kidding...Of course they're thrown in randomly at spawn points as well as where I see little helmets bopping around from afar (especially in District where the snipers love to hang out at the end of the street. I think I was able to get a couple of guys every time also because it was ground war!

Another rule that I live by is to almost always never die without using the grenade. I almost always make it a point to use them up first before even firing my gun (for the most part this is possible on most maps...)

Hahaha, I feel the same about *my* random grenades. For every map in TDM, at the start, you pretty much know where a couple of guys are gonna be. I want to make sure I send a little grenade there ahead of me. It's not really random, just experience.

Same with throwing them once the game is well under way. If I see your dot on the radar, depending upon where it is in the map and where your team-mates are, I can guess where you're headed and send a little bouquet of lead.

I don't play with you guys (yet - I have a buddy that I play with for an hour or two every night pretty much and haven't ventured out) but I'd like to throw my $0.02 in on glitching. For the most part, if it's in the game, it should be fair. The glitches I've seen aren't that bad and you kind of leave yourself "exposed" just trying to get to them. On the other hand, I only play TDM and I've read that other game types have some really heinous glitches, like walking *under* the map and being able to shoot up. That's kinda bogus and would make me cuss and spill my beer if I got killed that way.

I know they aren't technically "random" but they still suck. That's why I hate the kill cam..watching a grenade fly over the building bounce off the flag pole and drop in your lap is not fun! lol!

Hahaha, I feel the same about *my* random grenades. For every map in TDM, at the start, you pretty much know where a couple of guys are gonna be. I want to make sure I send a little grenade there ahead of me. It's not really random, just experience.

Same with throwing them once the game is well under way. If I see your dot on the radar, depending upon where it is in the map and where your team-mates are, I can guess where you're headed and send a little bouquet of lead.

I don't play with you guys (yet - I have a buddy that I play with for an hour or two every night pretty much and haven't ventured out) but I'd like to throw my $0.02 in on glitching. For the most part, if it's in the game, it should be fair. The glitches I've seen aren't that bad and you kind of leave yourself "exposed" just trying to get to them. On the other hand, I only play TDM and I've read that other game types have some really heinous glitches, like walking *under* the map and being able to shoot up. That's kinda bogus and would make me cuss and spill my beer if I got killed that way.

agreed on the "not so devious glithces" but getting out of the level and being able to kill is kinda pathetic...being able to find or at least get to places that other people can get to on the other hand is fair game...it's a learning process.

10 is cool for running around like a tard with your head up in the air, or breakdancing, but theres no way i could play at 10.

I know they aren't technically "random" but they still suck. That's why I hate the kill cam..watching a grenade fly over the building bounce off the flag pole and drop in your lap is not fun! lol!

I still feel that the M16 is a beast-gun when used correctly but yes, the AK performed very admirably early this morning and the handling seemed to prefer the run and gun type players and is quite accurate from decent range (i.e. if the red dot takes up your whole head, then it's too far but if it takes up about half of the person's head, they're dead...

Hey guys... Tomorrows the big night. Here's the run down of folks signed up. The other group we are playing is called Adult Playground [APG]. They have 18 people signed up. This will allow us to have two clan parties if we can pickup a few more.

We'll split up TWW's and AVSers to get a good mix if everyone thinks that's a good idea. We'll also decide on game types when in the party. Last time we ran some auto assign matches to get the two clans mixed up and get to know each other.

Naturally by the time the group got on and we started playing together I had already gotten enough points to prestige again, so I went from 40 kill 15 death games to under .500 games. I am just not a fan of the M16. Anyhoo, Xedric was kickin my butt last night, everywhere I went there he was. All in all another fun night of COD4.

Yep the game master guy had it setup that way and didn't tell anyone. Our party was in ranked rooms and I got some messages to join the avs party. We were just running a few quick matches until the invite to the AVS party was received. I never got the invite after we left the ranked matches, so we played a few S&D and TDM.

Lol, it was just luck. Everytime Diddy invites me to join a game it's always against avs. Pretty frustrating that every game against you I was the only person on my team that had more kills than deaths.

man last night was horrible. everything went wrong. had to have been one of the worse COD nights of my young COD life!!
I just couldn't get going. most of the night my mic and headseat was not working, and for some reason, it smelled like dynamite, hot ass and chick-o-sticks. from then on my night was just ruined.
sucks that i'll miss tonights match ups but i'll more than likely be on Saturday or Sunday night.

the no spawn camping thing is a little rediculous, it's a technique like every other technique. that's like saying no run and gunning, no camping, ect...

especially considering how the spawns are in this game, since once someone from a team passes a certain point the spawns flip, so it pretty much eliminates that all together. there have been times i've flanked an entire map, and just when i get to the other teams spawn, i see a teammate spawn right in front of me. man, i HATE that...

and the family comes first thing had me cracking up. i know that should always be the case, but i had flashbacks of Kicking and Screaming, MEAT COMES FIRST! lol

I dont think you need to erase me from playing, I mean unless your getting teams fully organized. Im sure team AVS would like to have me for an hour rather that not at all. Right boys! lol

Not sure of the origin of spawn camping from their group. In R6V on the ps3 our clan would purposely not camp the spawn as good sportsmanship. That was when we were getting to know each other, much like the feeling out period for the avs cod 4 clan. We would re balance if teams weren't fair. Guess that's how our group stayed together gaming. Our rooms were filled with our clan only.

Most of my online play at that time was in the sheltered environs of our clan. When I played death match (team sharpshooter) outside the clan on the 360 version of R6V I found out how painful getting camped can be.

Point is with rolling re spawns it's difficult to get spawn camped in COD 4. But for games with a static re spawn area getting camped happens.

Now our goal is to secure the best spawn and keep it or force an opposing team into a corner and unload on them (countdown by the downed heli is a great spot to force a group). I'm hoping that's within the spirit of their code of conduct, cause that's how we play the game. Nothing is more irritating than losing a good spawn area. Cept for team killers.

With regards to the family thing, it's kind of our charter at TWW too. We have that on our main page. It's more of a thing to let folks know we're gamers and want to do well, but we're limited by life outside of gaming to be a hardcore clan battling group.

You won't be erased at all. Sorry if it came off that way. I type how I think, in fragments... You're in but if someone wanted to backfill your spot when you leave, the opportunity is there. I should have said we're still looking for more players too.

Point is with rolling re spawns it's difficult to get spawn camped in COD 4. But for games with a static re spawn area getting camped happens.
Spawn camping can be brutal in Team Fortress 2. Unfortunately, most people don't work well as a team, because it can be broken with some teamwork.

Well, it was good times for the hour I got to play in the TWW/AVS vs APG crews. I think we went 3-2 in the HTDM I was around for. This sucks I have to work, but I will be on a lot this weekend since I decided to take it easy this weekend.

Im of the belief you can sorta spawn camp in cod4 but not really. I've been able to spawn camp halo 3 very well as if you learn certain choke points on maps such as valhalla you can get them to spawn in the middle and just destroy them.

I find if someone is spawn camping and they take your team out once or twice it shifts the spawns completely opposite. I see this most prevalant in ambush, and countdown.

I need to get back on with you guys BEFORE I lose what little skill I had! It's good to see the group is playing regularly though...

I got in a few games last night after some frustrating TDM games in jug-land. It is interesting coming from a whatever game of TDM to the group. The skill level is night and day different, lag seems better (intentional or otherwise), and much of the "I just have a fast trigger finger" excuses are non-existent in the group.

I did have one good TDM round but still get my arse handed to me in HCTDM....and that was running behind Quasi. I really get frustrated in HCTDM since it seems like every time I try to get to a position to squat for a bit I get sniped. I'm assuming this is just playing more HCTDM to find the best spots to sit...but geeze in that Ambush round I got killed 10 times before my first kill. So after getting fed up, I just start hauling around the map shooting anything that moves and seemed to do better. Is my technique bad or do I need a different class of weapons for HCTDM?...I was using a silenced MP5 with Band, UAV jammer etc. and really couldn't even get off a shot most times.

Anyway...fun stuff and wish I had a bit more time....definitely learning.

Sounds like your just a run and gunner. So why not stick more to that. And then try working on other things every now and then.

The thing with COD4 (or any shooter for that matter) is you have to figure out your strengths and weakness. From there stick to what works and avoid what doesnt. You can always try your hand at something thats new, but you will figure out pretty quickly if its workin for you or not.

I've noticed I do everything fairly decent. I can pretty much take any weapon and come out a match with more kills than deaths. Even if its just 6 kills to 5 deaths.. +1.

But when I use the MP5 or M4 to run & gun.. I usually double my kill to death ratio.

And when I use the M16 and play further back.. I usually tripple my kill to death ratio. Or better. Hell this is my chance to go 20 - 4.


So I already know what I do best:

*Sitting back with the M16 and goin to work.. especially on the longer maps with lots of outdoor play like Bog..
*Whenever a shorter map with lots of run and gun indoor play comes up, Vacant for example.. its time to switch to the MP5.
*Whenever I playing a medium sized map.. like District.. the M4 seems balanced enough to give the ability to play either from a distance or run & gun. And I like the fact its recoil is so low and you can just unload on a bunch of guys coming your way.



My weaknesses are sniping and shooting from the hip. Whenever I try to use either one of those techniques. I guarantee you I'm looking at a k:d ratio of even at best. I usually end up dying more times than I kill. So I stay away from it.

I'm only so-so with the Scorpion and I can't do anything with the G3 or M14 without a red-dot scope. I used to skip the M21, but now I've practically fallen in love with it - I've been using it with Stopping Power instead of the jammer, and sometimes Deep Impact over Iron Lungs.

it's easy to frustrated in HCTDM, if you're not like the majority of people that just camp around their spawn and wait for you to come to them, since there's no kill cam and there's no reason to ever move...

and your class is fine, because every gun is pretty much created equal in HC. i mean really, a Desert Eagle is a one shot kill in HC, so you could actually walk around with nothing but a DE and dominate the other team if you're quick enough...

and you gotta love a DM mode where you're getting owned because you don't know the best spots to camp! sure, you can say people are more cautious in HC all you want, but there's a difference between being cautious and sitting in the same spot for five minutes now, isn't there...
