I was going through Best Buy the other day and saw Good Will Hunting.

Some prolly aren't a fan of it, but I happen to really like the movie.

Just wondering if Disney is giving love to the Miramax line of their movies....

Didn't Disney sell of or spin off Miramax?

Well I have seen no love from Disney to Miramax for the Kill Bill films even though we seen the box art for over 1-2 years.

The only title I know of is Chicago.

Chicago and The Lookout are the only Miramax Blu-ray titles I own. I'm not sure if there are any others.

I do wish they'd release some of their more popular titles. I'm not sure how much Good Will Hunting can be improved by a HD transfer since it was a low budget film, but I'd still love to have it on Blu-ray. I know Cider House Rules can look A LOT better than the current DVD.

The only thing I want from Disney, in regards to what the Weinstein brothers owned, is Sin City, Kill Bill, Gangs of New York, and an updated Chicago with special features. There might be more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

They also announced, then cancelled The Hoax. Gone Baby Gone has also been mentioned as an early 2008 blu-ray title. Great little movie, so I say bring it on.

Becoming Jane has also been advertised as coming soon to Blu-ray on recent Miramax DVDs.

I'm not trying to jump in and rip Blu-Ray in any way, but I got Becoming Jane on HD-DVD from the UK last week. Just wanting to inform those who are neutral.

It is already available in the UK on Blu-ray as well and is confirmed to be region free.

I would be all over a BR release of Sling Blade, too. I know it's not a HD-showcase type of film - but it's one of my faves.

I have some insight here: Disney is desperate to release Kill Bill, however Weinstein is solely in the HD-DVD camp at the moment. (Harvey holds the rights to the single 3+ hour Kill Bill, which combines the two flicks) Disney also needs participation from QT who is very loyal to Harvey so don't hold your breath at this time.

It's listed as region free on that link, but the region code site says otherwise.

dont forget the trailer/box art for Sin City in addition to the Kill Bill box arts. they'd sell so many more BDs if they'd get those films out in HD.
