The original BAAS (not BADAS) got together with Alon Wolf at Audio Image in Oakland this weekend to audition and compare the new Magico V3 and Mini2, and I was very impressed, both with the speakers and Alon. We were pretty much split on which we preferred, although in agreement with the sound. The V-3 is more detailed and resolving, but many felt the Mini2 was more "musical". The V-3 was set up using top of the VAC Signature preamp and Phi 300.1 amps, while the Mini2 was using VAC a rung below (Renaissance Mk2 Pre and 160 amp). I personally preferred the V-3 (list is $22K), and is certainly the way to go if you are more into rock and orchestra. The Mini I feel is more suited to jazz and chamber music, and lacks the presence of the V-3. They are both very linear speakers, although the room itself accentuated the bass (Alon called it a boom box), which some found unpleasant with the V-3.
If I were going to set up a 2 channel system, I would gladly trade in my WP7s for a pair of V-3s

The V3's are my favorite speaker under $25K.

I own a pair of Magico Mini IIs and couldn't be happier. Have had them for a month hooked up to a Rowland Concentra II and Cary CD 306 using Nordost Tyr speaker cable. They replaced a pair of ProAc Response D15s, which are a decent pair of speakers in their own right, but Magicos have really been a noticeable step up in acoustic quality.

I almost bought a pair of Watt Puppy 8s but chose these instead.
