Hello. I have a sammy fpt-6374 plasma and a toshiba regza lcd...My cable tv is via surewest who use fiberoptic to the house hub and then cat 5 cable to my amino stb. Question is this...

the stb has outputs of 720p and 1080i..I read up on the native pass through, so if both my tv's have native resolutions for 1080p would it be best to set the stb to 720p or 108i and enable the native pass-through seting? I would assume with npass-through the signal is bypassed via the stb and the tv will do the scaling correct? any input is appreciated. TY!

Try them all and see what you think!

Most or many of today's LCD and plasma TVs have great scalers in them. I've been reading a lot lately of people finding they get the best results sending 480i or 480p to a LCD or plasma... I even get a better pic with HDMI sending 480p to my 47" Vizio GTV47L LCD.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see a little better pic from 720p, esp. considering several sports networks have chosen 720p for their broadcast standard.

But like the other poster said, try them both...only way to tell for sure since it's very much system-dependent, incl. the incoming signal.
