The 42" plasma lg costs about 100.00 more than the 37" sony bravia lcd. My room is fairly small will be viewing from about 8 to 10 feet. I consider the room to be somewhat dark but I do have several window and a door with glass but curtains are usually closed. Both looked good in store also looked at the 46" bravia but its a little more than I want to spend. The lg costs 100.00 more.

How much is the 42" LG? You might be better off with one of the Panasonic 42" 720P's that are going for under 1000.00..

I'd get the bigger TV at the lower price, the LG plasma.

Bigger in not always better, and is a very subjective thing. Go to a store, with a tape measure if necessary, and stand 8-10 feet from the 2 sized you are considering. See if you can see the pixels on one and not the other. Being too close to a monitor is annoying and takes away from the picture quality if you can see the pixels, but again, this is subjective. Some don't mind that, where as it drives me nuts.

Tough call. The Sony is likely the better set (at least in most ways), but the LG will have the advantage in terms of viewing angle and motion. Not to mention it's going to be much bigger.

Are you sure you can't find a Panasonic plasma for the same or less?
