Very interesting ! Now all we have to do is wait for the Third Party Calibration folks to implement it into their systems :D

I’m curious how they make use of the data from the ambient light sensor. Do they measure the CCT of the ambient light conditions and offset the target colorimetery / calibration? Offset black level based on ambient? I recall the photo resistor eye on some early color TV’s that varied the brightness in real-time based on measuring ambient.
Nice looking ID.

but wait... 2 months after you buy it they'll come out with the bug-free corrected unit, with no change in part number and no upgrade path....

So if it's 400% more sensitive than the Spyder 2 does this mean it is a better bet than the Eye One Display LT?

They are clearly targeting that market, whether it performs as well or not, who knows. The spyder design has great potential but it has been underutilized to-date due to limited factory cals. I'd like to know if it has separate cal tables for each of the displays it is supposed to support, if it does than it could out-perform the Display LT.
Does anyone yet have had the chance to compare the spyder3 against other well known meters?:)
i was thinkng of replacing my spy2 with something new...whould have been nice to se if the spy3 is something to consider....:)

should I return my PrintFIX Pro Suite 2.0 and get the Spyder 3 Elite? i just bought the PrintFIX Pro Suite 2 (which comes with a spyder2 pro) since there was a nice rebate, but I haven't even opened the box yet.
