I am trying to set grayscale and one thread said to set all color controls on my Mits WD 65-733 to 0 (color and the six colors on the Perfect Color controls) and the each color should turn black. Mine still show some red and blue. Soes this mean my gains are too high (all 3 are set at factory defaults of 1024)? Do I need to turn down the brightness and contrast to 0 to do this test? Is this a good test of perfect grayscale?

Any help is appreciated.

If your color is set to zero, then it is the grayscale that is unbalaced. Try turning up the green or lowering blue and red to make it more neutral. Unfortunately you can't get 'perfect grayscale' without a color analyzer. The best you can do is reduce the overbearing colors until it appears as neutral gray as possible. You can save a lot of frustration by getting a color analyzer or a professional calibration.
