I'm in an area where it is very difficult to find projectors so if anyone has seen these three projectors if you could rank them under these 3 categories such as overall picture longevity and overall value i would greatly appreciate it
infocus sp 7210
mits hc1500
optama hd 7100
SMac770

7210
1500
7100
7100 might be nice, but I'm not into playing craps with four digit bets.

You can get the 7300 with a seperate processor (HD3000) and scaler for cheap (same price as others). Check out the thread in 3k+ forum and learn where you can get one before it is gone.
8300 is not as bright (still very bright) as the other two but it sure is a better pj using DC3 and much much better black level and ansi contrast and excellent color.

For over all value I think it would hard to beat the Mits 1500. For overall picture in a dedicated room the Optoma 7100 is a step above the other two but as noted above it comes with a well known hstory of start up problems and short bulb life if you check the threads.

The 7210 will give the best picture, but some people think it's loud and the bubls are really expensive ($600).
The 7100 is a close second but it has bulb failure problems.
The 1500 is a safe choice, but you can also look at the HC3000 which isnt as bright but has much better contrast. 6ave electronics has some left in stock.

Bulb failure.. A few yes. Some have had missed strike as the main issue not bulb failure.
8300 has had no report of lamp strike issue.

Do you mean the 7300? Quick google search came up empty for 8300.
Heck, I can't find any 7300 reviews from the usual reviewer sites either.

At first I didn't, really. Thought it was a PJ that was maybe being closed out I hadn't heard of before.
So are there any professional reviews of the 7300?

see the thread in the other forum for links and some owner's review. It is a hard to beat 720p unit in ansi and color and black level.
