i has just brought a samsung r81 37 inch lcd tv . Any ideas what are the ideal setting for the tv i mean the contrast,brightness,sharpness,color ,
backlight. I will be using the tv for watching tv program and playing it with my ps3. anyone can advise thanks!

Ideal settings can vary a lot from set to set. add in differences between DVD players and you increase the variance even more.
Spending 5 minutes with the THX optimizer found on any THX dvd will give you better results than blindly copying someone else's settings down. It's like using someone else's combination lock numbers on your TV ... maybe they work and maybe they don't.

sorry to trouble u again may i know what is a THX optimizer? Is THX optimizer found on most dvd player?

No problem ...
THX optimizer mode is found on any DVD that has the THX certified label. Any of the Star Wars films will include these set of test patterns and instructions on how to use them.
There are many many other THX discs out there too. Disney cartoons have this feature too.
