I just got my AX-200 setup (replaced an AE500) and have an odd thing with the mounting.

It's ceiling mounted (as was the AE500) in the same location give or take an inch - approx. 12 ft from mt Stewart 100" screen.

It seeems that the pj is angled downwards quite a bit more than the old one in order to get the image to fill the screen, and then have to use keystone to get an evan picture. The AE500 was almost parallel to the cieling. I have the lense shift right in the centre.

The new one is mounted such that the front is about 7.25" down from the cieling with the back being 5.5 inches below the cieling. The top of the scrren is about 5" down from the cieling. With the AX-200 parallel to the cieling the image is nowhere near the bottom of the screen.

Is this normal for this projector?? It just looks weird to me being pointed down like that.

It's my understanding that the newer models throw the image up/down and left/right fairly even from the lens position. My older Panny PT-L300 throws > 90% of the picture down from the lens position when hung upside from the ceiling.

So - from what everyone says, level your projector and use the lens shift, not the keystone feature to adjust to your particulars as that shouldn't affect the quality as the keystone adjustment might.

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks - Tried that and it does allow me to get rid of keystone. The manual says that PQ is best when the lense shift is in the centre. Is this a lesser of two evils kind of thing - lense shift is better than keystone?

Yes, lens shift is better than keystone correction. I have slight keystoning on my set, but overscan the image to get rid of it. Using Keystone correction is bad!
