My mom works in a library and was asking me for projector advice--of which I have none--but this website was extremely helpful for me before and after I bought a recent Westinghouse 1080p LCD.

She is setting up a computer workshop room, about 20x40, and is looking to have a projector installed so someone can lead computer classes. The room will be moderately well lit, not bright, but some lights will need to be on.

I recommended to her going with a 1024x768 resolution over 800x600, but I wasn't sure what she would need for the Lumen count. Would 2400 be sufficient? 3200?

If anyone has a brand or model recommendation that is welcome as well.

Take a look at projectorcentral.com and check out the list of popular business class projectors. 2500 - 3500 lumens will do for computer output even in moderatly high ambient light with screen sizes in the 100-120 inch range.
