As a total n00b to the PS3 (just bought one for $200 today), I was wondering what the quality was like on games you can download from the PS Store?

For example, I wanna buy Twisted Metal 2 for $6 on the store. Does Sony enhance the games in any way (like 360), or are they straight ports with no fixes and no graphic enhancements (like Wii)?

Well, the PS1 games that you can download are the same as the originals. You can use the PS3's texture smoothing to make some games look a little better, but basically there are no significant code changes from the original disc (i.e. no graphics enhancements, no added multiplayer, no extra modes, etc.).

That said, some of those are classics and worth the purchase, I just wish the U.S. store had as many titles available as the Japanese store does...

So basically, playing the actual physical disc would be the same exact thing if you downloaded it from the store?

Just wanting to know, since for some reason the store just won't accept my credit card, so I may just buy the actual physical TM2 instead.

My two most played games are from the PSN. Superstardust HD and Tekken 5.

Yes, except it will also play on a PSP.

It's actually Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection Online, but I agree with both choices as top games. Calling All Cars! is also excellent.

Has anyone else also ever had problems when they were trying to sign their credit card up to the store?

I CONSTANTLY keep getting "Invalid" errors, saying something about it was wrong. Which is BS, cause everything is exactly correct, and Sony is even charging $1 to my card everytime I try to re-submit it.

Call them up to resolve it. They'll refund/credit your account if there are errors made, but of all the credit card purchases I've made (at least a dozen), I've never been charged an extra $1 for any of them. Clear it up with customer service.
